Possibly the best hotel........
Well a real contender for the best hotel ive stayed in.
The most friendly staff ive come across,We took my mother who is just recovering from a stroke, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even down to making small childs meals for her.
The rooms are great(most comfy hotel beds ever),all Egyptian cotton bedding, large well appointed bathrooms, and a little table and chairs outside the patio doors.
Free wireless internet throughout the place.Films and inernet email on the T.V.and even ebilling and checkout on the T.V.
Food was very good if a little expensive, breakfast buffet(included in rate) was great, suffering now through eating too much this morning.
Bar prices a little on the high side
Bottle of Magners £3.80
Pint of draught coke £3.00
Pint of Becks £2.90
Highly recommend this place.......Will definately be visiting again

One real draw back for me personally was, because the place IS so good, some of the other guests(who obviously had a little spare cash) were so far up their own rear ends made me wish i had an Uzi :)
They had a distinct lack of good manners and showed no thought for other guest, but hopefully these people wont be there the next time i visit

Exerienced difficulties with the booking as they had only a record of one night booking not the two I had requested. They have a rather late check in time of 4 pm but if you pay £20 per room extra you can check in earlier apparently. We asked for this but one of the two rooms we had booked was still not available at 4.30pm. The pool area is small with only two loungers available. The jacuzzi is used more as a childrens pool so we did not find it a relaxing haven. The spa staff seemed rather confused about availability of treatments and we ended up not having any. The rooms were lovely, spacious and light but we had no hot water the first night but that was sorted out by the following evening. Dinner was good and breakfast fine but we ate at another hotel for the second night. The views are wonderful but they were there long before the hotel. We went away for a family weekend to celebrate my birthday and we wanted to relax and enjoy. We felt that there was some pretentiouness around the hotel which made us smile as really they were not quite up to the mark. We probably will not return.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were excellent, really helpful. We upgraded our room on arrival and the staff were more than happy to help, they even showed us an example room with a better view. Our room was lovely and looked out onto the harbour. The spa was great, fantastic treatments. There was a mixture of clientele; young couples, older couples, groups, families etc. The hotel restaurant is very nice, but if you’d like to eat anywhere else book in advance!!

“Lovely Hotel”

The Quay Hotel & Spa

Mar 25, 2008

Stayed at the Quay hotel over the Easter holidays. We booked a standard room, which was more than adequate. Lovely bathroom, big TV, only one fault ........No mini bar! Hotel food was nice for the price, service of staff was excellent. Nothing really within walking distance (bearing in mind i'm not a walking type of person), however a short drive and you have all the usual tourist attractions, and Snowdonia is a great drive. All in all a very enjoyable relaxing Easter break at a very reasonable price.

“Good hotel, relaxing break”

The Quay Hotel & Spa

Mar 24, 2008

A good stay for a wintry March weekend. We booked a half day spa package which was enjoyable, but the pool facilities were a bit disappointing: no jacuzzi, tiny little sauna and characterless pool. But we had it all to ourselves which was nice.

The room we stayed in was an executive on the ground floor. Nice big bed, lovely views of the estuary and smart new bathroom.

We didn't try dinner as we had been told by friends that it was very expensive and service was extremely slow. Instead we walked 10 mins to a Thai restaurant just out of the complex which was fine.

Breakfast was good - plenty of things on offer and beautiful views from the restaurant. Overall a good stay and I would recommend it.
