A lovely hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the Junior Suites which was spotless and well decorated, the large bay windows gave us a fantastic view out to the beach. We enquired about room service and they were more than happy to oblige, both mornings our breakfast was delivered within 15 minutes of us calling down and it arrived hot. We dined in the restaurant on the Saturday night and we thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine and service provided. We ended the night in the lounge and again we were impressed with the service we received from the young lady behind the bar, there was a wedding on and everyone was obviously extremely busy but the staff were still extremely attentive to our needs. We would definately stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to any of our friends.

Really wanted to be impressed with this hotel as had read all the reviews on here and elsewhere and was confident it was a good choice. We had a junior suite with lovely bay windows and fantastic sea views. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. There were complimentary apples and bottled water and proper filter coffee too which we thought was a nice touch.The all important bathroom was clean and modern with lovely Molten Brown toiletries. The bar and reception staff were outstanding and the public areas are very welcoming.

Our only disappointment with the hotel was the restaurant. We were shown to a fabulous window table as requested and the service was good right up til the point where our main course was served. My husband's steak was undercooked, red and bloody despite his request for medium/well-done. This perhaps could easily have been rectified if anyone had come over to enquire how our meal was but the staff seemed to vanish. Rather than spoil our meal, he ate round the meat as best he could leaving a fairsize chunk of his £25.00 fillet. The maitre' d did apologise but this was after we had finished.

The next morning at breakfast we had a similar experience in that we were left unattended to for 25 minutes until my husband caught a waiter's eye and we were able to order our breakfast.

These are small gripes in what was overall a good experience. However this was our annual night away without our three children and a nice meal on our own is a very big part of our break. I'm afraid the restaurant staff were not quite as attentive as the other staff members we encountered and as such our stay fell short of what we expected.


There is also quite a bit of noise from the surrounding bars and whilst this did not bother us especially, may not suit everyone.

Love my stay at the St. Andrews Golf Hotel. Excellent service and terrific, nostalgic atmosphere. Clean, professional, and attentive. Definately, reserve the oceanview rooms. Will go again for sure.
