We visited St Andrews for business and found the hotel to be a welcome home away from home, with good amenities (free WiFi access) great bar and restaurant as well as comfortable specious rooms. The staff were friendly and courteous.

We left for a getaway trip to see St Andrews and have a little holiday for 2 days. I had read on TripAdvisor that this hotel was well recommended and I have to say I have no disappointments.

We stayed in a superior room (Troon I believe), it had a beautiful iew of the sea and it was very nicely fitted and clean. It reminded me of an old tenement with a bed in it. It was one of those joined together beds which I'm not a fan of because you can feel the join in the middle but it certainly wasn't uncomfortable. The bathroom was lovely as well, I don't think you can emphasise a good bathroom enough.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful the time we were there. The hotel was very quiet which suited us fine. The lounge and the dining room were always clean and very well staffed but then that could've been reflected by the fact there weren't many people around.

The restaurant was sadly closed when we were there so we didn't get to sample the food in the evening which I'd been looking forward to. The breakfast menu was very ample and even though the buffet wasn't out (again due to the lack of guests) the staff were happy to get anything for us.

Location of the hotel is excellent and it is a short walk to everywhere of interest in St Andrews.

My only complaint would be we didn't get to eat there in the evening, that and our room was a tad cold when we first arrived but it soon heated up.

Overall it was an excellent stay and I think we would definitely go back for another short break and to sample the food (I'd go back for the breakfasts alone). One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at for a long time, I would recommend it to anyone!

I've just come back from a weekend at the St Andrews Golf Hotel for my birthday and cannot fault it. The decor is modern without being pretentious, the food excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful. A great weekend and one I hope to repeat very soon.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and had a wonderful chilled-out time. The room was beautiful - spacious, clean, in good condition, nice decor (no tartan!). The free-standing bath with a view over the sea was a favourite. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was lovely. Breakfast is great too - many choices and can be delivered directly to the room.

The hotel is in an extremely handy location, being minutes away from attractions like the cathedral and castle and round the corner from the centre of the town. It has great sea views (and views of the seals in the aquarium!)

A music system in the room would have been good and maybe a bit more of a choice for vegetarians in the restaurant but other than that it was all fab! Go! Obviously its ideal if you like golf but I would strongly recommend a stay here if you just want some relaxing time and a bit of luxury in a picturesque location
