My wife and I stayed at this hotel on 28th March. From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed by a friendly face which I sometimes find a rarity in Britain!.

Our room was very clean, very big and had wonderful views over St Andrews Bay and true to their word the champagne, chocolates, flowers and fruit were in the room on arrival.

We also had dinner in No.40 and found the food to be very tasty and had I known how much smoked salmon my wife was going to get with her scrambled eggs in the morning............

Overall this has to be one of the most relaxing hotels I have ever stayed in and in the future I will visit again hopefully for more than one night.

Thanks to all those in making our stay as relaxing as possible.

Just visited this hotel at the weekend.

Got the room for £79 from late rooms including breakfast.

Room given was huge with fab views over the water.

Service from staff was very good.

We had trouble with the noise from the bar Ma Belles' down below so had to shove in ear plugs (which i take everywhere). Reception said we should have called down as they do get complaints and the night porter will ask them to turn it down.

I'm a vegetarian, hot breakfast selection only meat version of full cooked version. Had scrambled eggs but without the salmon.

Overall good stay.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights over the Easter weekend and had a lovely break. I thought everything about the hotel was very pleasant and I would definitely return however i was slightly disappointed by the restaurant Number 40. We received an email a couple of weeks prior to our stay suggesting we book and we decided we would have a meal at the hotel on our first night. I'm a vegetarian and the selection was quite limited and it was made harder when one of the choices wasn't available. It annoyed me to see that you had to order your side dishes separately at an additional charge, personally i think it should be included in the price. My husband had the steak and chips and the chips had been arranged very neatly 3 across and 4 up. It's nice to think that someone has had their fingers on every single chip on your plate! Breakfast and the overall service in the hotel was great but the restaurant niggled me slightly.

Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Room very nice, comfortable. If I was being pedantic, the towels in the bathroom although clean, had been well used.

There was some noise from a downstairs bar. My wife called down to complain about 11pm. She was told the bar was due to be open till 1am. To be fair the noise stopped almost immediately.

Breakfast was very good (although they didnt have any tomato juice!)

A very enjoyable stay. We have stayed in all of the 'rated' hotels and would certainly return to the St Andrews Golf Hotel
