A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The room was big and bright and airy with great views and a modern well furnished bathroom. The staff were particularly attentive and with a small child this was particularly important. The restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was also very well appointed and the food was excellent. Highly recommended...

We were astounded at the high prices at The Old Course Hotel (which was, to be sure, spectacular) and "settled" for the St. Andrews Golf Hotel. We didn't regret our choice for even a second. This hotel was extremely well located, completely comfortable and staffed with a great group of people, from the reception clerk to the bartenders to the dining room staff. If, as I hope, we ever get a chance to go back to St. Andrews, this will be our first choice. It's a really nice place to stay, extremely welcoming, and at a fair price.

Everyone at the St.Andrews Golf Hotel seemed to love their job and it showed in terms of good cheer, helpfulness, responsiveness, and great service. In order of appearance, the reception staff helped on everything from ensuring that the rooms met our needs, helped make reservations, and provided good directions. The bar staff were friendly and attentitive. The restaurant wait staff were very eager to help and the food was terrific. The porter was jolly and full of helpful advice. The hotel appears to have been redone and is clean, sparkling, and inviting. The new owner stopped by and introduced himself. He was visible throughout our stay and set the tone for a fabulous stay. Just a short walk to the tee at the Old Course, right on the shore, and near everything. Good parking on the street. The icing on the cake was free wireless Internet--doesn't it drive you nuts at other hotels when you pay premium for a hotel room and then through the nose for the Internet? Not so at the St. Andrews Golf Hotel. I have stayed elsewhere on two previous trips to St. Andrews and this is the best overall value for money.

The St. Andrews Golf Hotel has recently undergone a major redecorating and it is beautiful! The rooms are tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds and quality bed linens. The bathrooms are stocked with wonderful bath soaps, lotions and shampoos. The staff at
the hotel are well trained, extremely helpful and vey friendly. The food in the dining room and MaBelles was excellent. The location of the hotel is great - closed to the "Old Course", close to St. Andrews
city center and an easy walk to the castle and cathederal. We would definitely highly recommend this hotel and hope to be able to stay there again. The Fellows
