“ditch the hotels”

Glasgow Central Apartments

Jan 3, 2008

we stayed in the apartments for a week at new year and had a pleasant stay. staff were friendly and welcoming and the apartments were lovely and much more spacious than we had been expecting. the central location was great as we could walk everywhere and the shopping locations and restaurants that glasgow boasts were all on our door step. had an enjoyable stay and will return again.

“Perfect alternative to a hotel”

Glasgow Central Apartments

Nov 28, 2007

Stayed there on business with a colleague. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was good, if a little warm, and clean and well presented. The staff explained the problem of removing the curtain rails if you open the windows the wrong way! Kitchen surprisingly well equipped and looked hardly used.

“Disappointing”

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to staying in these relatively new apartments, however by the end, I couldn't wait to check out! The furnishing were OK, but cheaply finished - we opened the window and the curtain rail came off the ceiling, next we settled down to watch a DVD, only to find that it was broken and only played in black and white, when we called to report this, we were told we would have to call staff the following day - a reminder that the level of service is nowhere near that of a hotel. Most importantly, our bed was so uncomfortable! If booking here, be sure to ask for a proper double bed, as ours consisted of two singles zipped together, creating a very uncomfortable, dip in the middle - this I was most unimpressed with. And to top it off, check-out is 10am, which is rather early for my liking!

“poor hospitality management”

Nice apartments, cheaply finished off but all in all not bad. We booked 2 x 2 bedroom apartments 3 months prior to going and when we arrived they had decided to put us in 1 x 2 bedroom and 2 x 1 bedroom apts. This did not suit us and we had not been advised. The lift was broken for the whole duration so if you are elderly or disabled this is not the place for you. We had to use the stairwell which was really smelly. The fire alarm went off about 4am and went on for ages - there was noone at reception. The rooms were far too warm and the street was very noisy to keep the window open. It states that towels are provided but the towels are like teatowels and you get one per person. It wouldnt even fit around a child so definitely bring your own towel. The single beds are tiny and uncomfortable. It would seem these apartments are run by people who have little or no experience in hospitality management.

I was a bit worried when i booked this as at that time i couldn't find any reviews but I really had no need to be, the apartment we stayed in was fantastic... We reckoned that we were the first ones to stay in them - the labels were still on loads of things - absolutely spotless, lovely leather sofas, one of them turned into a sofabed which was actually more comfortable than the single beds!!! Very modern, massive, the photos really don't do the apartments justice. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed which was huge, one with 2 single beds, two bathrooms the shower was terrible though the water kept going from freezing cold to scalding hot but the was an attachment on the bath in the other bathroom which was lovely. Kitchen has all that we needed, and small dining area & flat screen TV, DVD player & digibox they really had thought of everything. The reception staff, mainly ryan, were polite, courteous - ryan really went out of his way to ensure that my request (bottle of champagne on arrival) was was perfect & anything we asked for was his pleasure. The only major thing I found wrong was that the check out time is 10 in the morning - not so good on a sunday - we thought it was 12 like majority of places & were stung £20 on departure. We were not pleased as we could have been out for 10 but simply hadn't realised. But we shall learn from our mistakes & that won't happen again! All in all though I would highy highly recommend these apartments, they are handy to shopping, clubs etc. and are really first class.
