We booked the Bewleys Hotel at Newlands cross rather at last minute after searching for week's for a family hotel in Dublin for 89 euro's a night you cannot be robbed. The best option for getting to the hotel would be a taxi we hired a car which was a huge mistake as roadworks were taking place that summer right outside the hotel. Fantastic price the rooms were great, Make sure you ask for a room facing the car park because it can be noisy if you have a room facing the main road.

The staff were great they suggested places to visit how to get there etc. The Bewleys Hotel happens to be a long journey from Dublin but not to worry you can take a shuttle from the hotel entrance to the LUAS which is the tram which runs from Newlands Cross to Dublin The LUAS is 2 euro's per person and the tram is about 3-5 euro's per person for an all day all lines ticket. Beware that the shuttle only runs until 1pm.

The Hotel boasts a good restraunt it serves a good full English or Irish breakfast it was around 30 euro's for all of us (2 adults 2 children) it also offers free wi-fi and even has its own computer on the ground floor which can be used free of charge. There is also a good priced bar which offers light snacks sandwiches etc.

With so many alternatives in the immediate area and so many special offers available online , I have been tempted away from Bewleys when staying in Dublin in recent months.However my visit last week reminded me why I've always enjoyed my stays in the past.
Everything always seems to work so well.Comfortable beds,relaxing rooms and bathrooms where everything works perfectly, can (and should) be taken for granted. The little extras ,like the basket of beautiful looking apples on the reception desk that appears to be constantly replenished, really put this place a step ahead.
Even the one previous drawback,the traffic noise from the nearby N7,has now partly been overcome with the addition of new rooms round the back.
One other plus for this place.The staff ,as with most hotels in Ireland , are largely Eastern European, but here they have so obviously been trained well in "Irish charm" that you almost think they are locals.

I stayed in this hotel for a business meeting. The hotel room was clean. However, when I went to the toilet in my room, just as I locked the door, the entire door handle fell off!! After shouting and hitting the door for about 30minutes, I was finally rescued by staff (and thanks to a passer-by, otherwise I would have not been heard at all!) My hand was swollen after hitting the door non-stop for 30minutes. I was in state of shock, I asked the staff to give me help, but all I was offered was a plain bandage (and I had to put it on myself with just one uninjured hand!) No further help was offered from the hotel until my colleague made a full complaint the following morning to the manager. At the end, the hotel paid for my doctor visit.

I agree that the incident is a genuine accident and could have happened to anyone, but I would appreciate if the staff can offer help ASAP (such as first aid or simply call a doctor straight after I got out from the toilet). Had they offered first aid/called a doctor ASAP (rather than waiting for us to make a full complaint to the manager the following morning), my hand would not be swollen as much perhaps.

After that incident, I just didn't want to stay in the hotel any longer. In all fairness, the hotel was clean. I don't have any complaints about the hotel itself, but can I suggest to the staff that they should be more responsive?

I recently stayed at this Bewleys Hotel as part of a group travel experience on an Ireland Tour. I was pleased with the overall qualities of the hotel including helpful and professional staff, pleasant enough furnishings, a nice pub, and a decent breakfast. The rooms were large by European standards and the bathrooms very modern. Downsides inlcuded only one lift for such a large facility (out of service on our final day at check-out) and problems with the electronic room door locks. For the price, this hotel is a good value.
