ServiceThe staff here is amazing! (Ask for Nickie. She's what you want every concierge to be.) The location is nice and the hotel itself was very pretty. The room was nothing special ("country style"). There was no elevator. The hotel had a lot of local attraction brochures available. Check out the nearby Muckross House- it's pretty, cheap and the tour is good.
We would come back simply because of Nickie.
The best part of the 4 night stay was the tremendous staff. It must be why Ireland is called Land of the Welcomes!! From the reception, to the barman, to the waitresses, and support staff.... They could not have made us feel more special and yet, at home. The friendly, polite nature, easy engagement and pleasant guidance and nature of all were wonderful. The business has been family owned for years and the staff interact like best friends and take on the different responsibilities seamlessly. The rooms were spacious, with a sitting area, comfortable bed and widescreen TV. The bath ad a jacuzzi, large sink and counter, and shower. We were a group of 12 very good friends and family and they accomodated our every need and circumstance. There was easy access to the city, church, national park, and endless activities that the entire staff seemed to be familiar with. there were two places to dine on grounds; the bar serving mainly pub food which was excellent and fairly priced, while the restaurant was excellent food, a little more expensive but you 'got what you paid for'. We would defininately return and highly recommend it to all who plan to visit the area.
Myself and my girlfriend, Karen stayed at this hotel in Nov 2002 for 2 nights while on a trip around south west Ireland.
I am from Tipperary (near Cashel) and have being in Kilarney on many occasions, but it was the first time Karen had being to Ireland/Kilarney (to meet my family).
We planned our trip before we came to Ireland and stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel was in its last week before the winter break shut down.
The staffing was a bit thin on the ground but the staff that were there treated us great and were very helpfull (night porter had to bring me back to our room at 3am as i had drunk the bar out of cider) and friendly.
We had breakfast in bed, even though it was not requested( see above for reason) and Karen had tea brought to the room at above time also.
This is a great hotel and if you are on a budget, then try it.

Service
Business serviceJust back from Ireland paid only 99 euros each for two nights with breakfast and one dinner. Upgraded on arrival to superior room for no charge. Huge bed, jacuzzi bath, power shower, quiet, nice furnishings only minus really was no tea or coffee making facilities. Very friendly staff did not charge for a room had to cancel for others in party who had to return early to UK. Good breakfast. Evening meal was ok considering price we paid. Nice bar in hotel. Hotel is quite a way out of town about a 20-25 minute walk but we managed it with a few glasses of wine. Lots of huge souless hotels in Killarney I prefer somewhere like the Victoria House smaller but friendly with character. Recommended.
