ServiceWe stayed at the Noel Arms for one night as a party of three.
Check is was fine and no problems. The reception clerk was professional and informative. A nice touch was to be taken to the room and shown the facilities.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. It was well equipped and the furniture was nicely in keeping with the hotel's brand/theme.
The floor was very creaky but that is part of the charm of an old building such as this. Thankfully there was the laundry below us so we did not disturb anyone below.
We were impressed with the chosen range of shampoo and body soaps provided in the bathroom. The bathroom
The breakfast service could not have been to a higher standard. It was very professional and efficient. The food was also of a very high standard and the staff should also be congratulated for high level of service.
This service further emphasied what a poor performance we had seen in a previous hotel (the day before).
The only real grumble we had was that the room was very hot. It was a very warm day and the room absorbed alot of the afternoon sun so the room was a bit uncomfortable over night despite the fan provided.
Overall though I would highly recommend a stay at The Noel Arms!!
Friends told us that the Cotswolds were lovely so many months prior to the horrendous floods we booked the Noel Arms for 3 nights for our family. Approaching the holiday date we were very close to cancelling but reassurances from the hotel and the tourist board kept our spirits up.
Upon arrival the receptionist was very frank with us explaining that the car park was once a swimming pool and the conference centre below our rooms had been flooded and that workmen would be present during the day. I was informed none of this when I called a week before.
The rooms were pleasant, clean and functional. We booked 3 courtyard rooms at top whack £165/night per room. There was a persistent smell of musty dampness due to the flooded ground floor below our rooms. The rooms are far too overpriced!! The luxuries and decor you should expect are absent. The bathrooms were very tired and dated. That said the beds were comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. The eastern european head waiter at breakfast was very friendly and excellent at his job.
The hotel bar was also really cosy and had good ales on tap.
The weather despite it being august was crap so we just strolled around the tacky shops all selling the same garden/costume jewellery bric a brac. There was a lovely wine shop and an excellent 'Robert Welch' shop.
The highlights of the trip were the superb afternoon tea shops,Julianas restaurant for dinner (wonderful place across road in sister hotel), Broadway and Blenheim Palace on the way home.
We shall return to the Cotswolds when global warming actually brings the sun. We will not stay at Noel Arms again - not worth it!

ServiceOn our first visit to England from the US, we found the Noel Arms online and we could not have been more pleased. It has all the charm and character we were looking for, including a great pub. The staff is superbly friendly and will do whatever is needed to make the stay enjoyable. Noel Arms is much preferred over the Cotswold House across the street, as it is too modern looking and cold. Not the charm of Noel Arms.
Although we were there during the terrible floods, Chipping Campden is one of the mot delightful villages in all of Britain. We will come back and will stay at the Noel Arms. Great Place to meet the real people of England.

Business serviceFirstly, Chipping Campden is the most gorgeous village/town i've seen for some time, an abundance of shops and facilities. What a lovely hotel, right in the centre, ample parking, absolutely full of character, great food, breakfast (freshly squeezed orange juice, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, fresh coffee) and dinner, excellent service, really friendly staff. The hotel does need some money spending on it, but this didn't detract at all from the enjoyment of the stay. Standards of cleaning were excellent, (andi'm fussy about that!) overall, a really enjoyable stay.
