“Noel Arms--England at its most charming”

On our first visit to England from the US, we found the Noel Arms online and we could not have been more pleased. It has all the charm and character we were looking for, including a great pub. The staff is superbly friendly and will do whatever is needed to make the stay enjoyable. Noel Arms is much preferred over the Cotswold House across the street, as it is too modern looking and cold. Not the charm of Noel Arms.

Although we were there during the terrible floods, Chipping Campden is one of the mot delightful villages in all of Britain. We will come back and will stay at the Noel Arms. Great Place to meet the real people of England.

Firstly, Chipping Campden is the most gorgeous village/town i've seen for some time, an abundance of shops and facilities. What a lovely hotel, right in the centre, ample parking, absolutely full of character, great food, breakfast (freshly squeezed orange juice, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, fresh coffee) and dinner, excellent service, really friendly staff. The hotel does need some money spending on it, but this didn't detract at all from the enjoyment of the stay. Standards of cleaning were excellent, (andi'm fussy about that!) overall, a really enjoyable stay.

The best all round hotel we've been too.
Very efficient, professional and friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble.
The management are fantastic again very happy to please and accommodate, especially considering we turned up in the middle of the floods, they were not stressed therefore we have a very relaxing weekend.
The rooms were spotlessly cleaned, the décor in the room was oldie worldly style yet it felt clean and new.
The wine list is very extensive and the food menu was fairly small yet very well planned so there would be something for everyone, I think the reason it was small was due to the quality, every dish we had was simply superb!!
Very highly recommended, we'll be visiting again.

“Okay, but needs some updating to justify the price”

We stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. The room we had was number 10, it is the first one shown on the hotel photos, with stone wall.

Good points:

1. The bedroom was lovely, well furnished, good quality furnishings and clean.
2. It's in Chipping Campden which can't fail to charm anyone.

Bad points:

1. The bathroom of our room was very poor. It let the stay down. Poor decoration, tired looking and out of date fixtures and fittings for a room which cost £130 a night.
2. It was near a very creaky and busy staircase. (But it is a period property so to some extent this can't be helped.)
3. The room was unbelievely stuffy and hot. (Again, it is a period property so was built to keep heat in!)

Overall it just needs some updating or a reduction in price! I would stay again, but not at that price.
