We have stayed at The Three Ways before and the fact that we fully intend to stay there again probably sums up our feelings on this place. It is our favourite place to stay when visiting the northern Cotswolds, and standards - in our opinion - have not dropped since our last visit (Dec 2004). The hotel has a great ambience, including the lounge which we found cosy and inviting with its roaring log fire (not, I would suggest, "totally characterless" as someone has penned recently), and the staff really do give the impression that they are pleased you are there, rather than being an interruption to their working day.
We were staying in a Superior Room (no 35) overlooking the garden and this was more than adequate, with a couple of comfy chairs, bath robes, flat-screen TV and a CD player.
Food was above average and the puddings excellent, breakfast was enhanced by having proper thick-cut marmalade rather than the plastic tubs found in many places nowadays - all in all, a great stay, a lovely hotel and all enhanced by the sunny weather and the excellent walking country within the immediate vicinity.
