We thoroghly agree with the points made by the previouscommentator..KKuwait 8. Other points to note...no fire alarm testing all the time we stayed and we understand there has NEVER been a fire drill for the staff or clients...does the local authority know? Surely? The reception staff were surly and unfriendly and the price of food was just one big rip off. We believed the hype ref. the food..big mistake! One just gets the feeling about this hotel that they are doing YOU a favour with their general attitude...this is not a hotel in the normal sense of the word...shame...lovely location. First and last visit..definetely not reccomended.

Very expensive and over-rated for what we got, staff not friendly.
The valet parking was nice, check-in took a long time. we had booked 2 adjoining rooms, 1 for young children - which was supposed to be done out in children;s bed sheets, etc., disappointing.

Upon entering the rooms, they were stuffy, too hot and smelled of over powering flowery, pungent spray that lasted all 3 days we were there.

I took the children for food, was ushered into the restaurant but the food was not agreeable to younger palates. We had a meal of pasta, 2 soft drinks, 1 juice and a plate of fries, cost Euro 53! Rip-off.

The next morning, breakfast was also a rip-off. I has specifically asked what time breakfast finishes and was told at reception the previous "there is no finishing time", so I took the children down by 11:45 only to be met by a tall, grumpy, stern waiter who immediately looked at his watch & asked me if I needed help? He reluctantly let us in to the breakfast room, told me they were closing in 15 minutes and that the hot food was finished. We had a choice of cold food - Euro 48 for 2 cereals, tea, 2 juice and a selection of pastries/croissants and jams. Once we were seated, the same waiter put the bill for our breakfast in front of me!! He continued to pace the floor by our table all the way through our meal and even took up the bill folder early on. It was a total turn-off.

The amenities for children were almost non-existant, yet in their advertising they claim to have lots for children. The play house in the garden was lovely, the children loved that. That was the highlight of our stay.

Would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

I really dont understand the bad reviews of this hotel. I sometimes wonder what our friends across the pond expect!!.

This is one very understated classy establishment.

The public rooms are superb the pool divine and the staff attentive yet unobtrusive.

The terrace at night is one of the most if not the most wonderful areas to sit and relax in any hotel in any town in the world. And I can say I have been on many a terrace in my time.

So excellent Im going back this year for another week...something I rarely do.
Just one last thing... if you are wondering why it has taken me so long to post a critique.. its because I dont want Le Beauvallon overrun with undesirables... I would like the place all to myself.

Only the 2nd 5 stars I have given.. equalling the Palais Coburg in Vienna.

The hotel looks good from the front but the rear of the hotel looked like a third rate town..unmade roads..washing hanging out..poorly kept gardens to the rear. This was reflected in the quality of service in the hotel itself. .poorly cooked food..very amateur quality of service with untrained staff. One had the feeling that we were staying in someone s private house. Shame. Hotel ownership is not a game and needs proffesionals to run it. We asked to see the manager to make a complaint and were just fobbed off.

This is a jewel set in the Cote d'Azur and a five star hotel exemplar. It is ideal for a little end of season self indulgent pampering when the madding crowds have departed the Riviera, the weather is not too hot and prices have come down from the stratosphere. And even if there is a chill in the air, the outside pool is heated. The cuisine featuring a touch of the oriental is to die for and nothing is too much trouble for the understated service. The rooms are simply furnished to the highest standards and those with a seaview present a stunning vista across the bay to St Tropez, just a 10 minute boat ride away on the Beauvallon's navette.
