Our first visit was two years ago during the summer. We wanted to go to the mountains and found this relatively new resort in spectacular surrounding. During that stay we found hotel pretty nice in terms of surrounding and design but they were seriously understaffed. At the breakfast we waited for 20/25 min for the coffee, room service was never less than 45 min and bar the slowest service I saw. We complained and hotel manager apologized and offered us benefits next time we stay.
This time we decided to go in early spring and they remembered their promise, we did get a good room rate. This was very encouraging.
Hotel itself didn’t change at all, really spectacular design by Munich architect studio, nice big rooms with fire place, mountain view and very large bathroom.
Service is much improved now, at the breakfast we didn’t wait at all and bar service is much quicker now though it still can be a little bit more efficient
In last two years they opened third restaurant - Bavarian traditional, we wanted to try it but it was full as I think speak for itself. We again opted for 360 restaurant and food was delicious.
We still didn’t try Ciel, their Michelin stared restaurant.
We didn’t have any problems finding hotel and were arriving by car. Hotel seems isolated but I guess this is exactly what you want of mountain resort.
Gym is very well equipped and has enough space for everyone.
Outside pool and area around it are especially nice with direct view towards Eagles nest. I am still wandering why is this only building that allies didn’t destroy in plane attack at the end of WWII. If you staying there go and see it and one advice, take a guide, you will here much more then just wandering around. It is opened only during summer time.
That is also time of the year I found the hotel more appealing and we will definitely go again in that time.
