We stayed at this hotel during the Berlin film festival in 2006 and managed to get an amazing deal of €80 through the Accor Hotels website. Rooms are in line with what you would expect from a four star hotel: clean, reasonably spacious, modern and with little extras such as bath robes.
What really stuck out though was the service at the hotel. We arrived at 9am and were immediately given a room. Obviously, this was only possible because the hotel was not fully booked, but we were still impressed. Also, my friend got sick during our stay and everyone was really helpful, bringing up chicken noodle soup, even though that was not on the room service menu, and their laundry service was also extremely prompt, washing and returning trousers the same evening.
Staff at the front desk and the concierge were also helpful. They sell day tickets for public transport right there, which is very convenient. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that takes you to Potsdamer Platz in about 15 minutes. Though the hotel is in a quiet street, it is only two blocks to the Kurfürstendamm (the main shopping street), which is very convenient, and the underground station is about a 10 minute walk away.
In conclusion, this is a very nice hotel that you can often get a very good deal on in a safe neighbourhood. It is close to shopping and public transport, even if it's not really in the middle of things, so if having lots of trendy bars around is important to you, you should probably choose a different hotel.
