“Great location and hotel”

Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz

4 of 5 stars
Oslo, Norway
Jul 7, 2008

Location is excellent, right on Alexanderplatz. You can walk everywhere, or hop on the U- and S-bahn and get all over the city. The view from the rooms are good (so you can skip the overpriced TV-tower).

The bathroom setup was out of the ordinary. There is a curtain and glass walls separating the shower from the rest of the room - and the toilet is behind frosted glass. You have to know each other quite well to feel totally comfortable. If you're traveling with your partner, it's no problem!

The staff was friendly. An internet connection was pretty expensive (6 EUR for 1 hour, 18 EUR for 24 hours), but there is a restaurant with free Internet on the ground floor.

Overall, the room looked good, the bed was nice and everything was clean. We got good value for money (we booked in advance).

“Took a chance with the location and we're so happy we did!”

Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz

Jul 3, 2008

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week at the end of May 2007. I was attending a conference at the International Congress Center on the west side of town and originally wanted to stay closer to the conference site, but a little online research and some comments from relatives who live in Germany and visit Berlin frequently, convinced me that the east side of town is a little more up-and-coming. We found that to be true, and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay at the Park Inn.

It's location is fantastic. The Alexanderplatz station makes it convenient to get anywhere in town via subway or train. Just a short walk north of the hotel puts you in an area full of cute, modern restaurants and bars. Head west one stop on the S line to Hackescher Markt, and the plaza is full of restaurants with outdoor seating. From this location you can find a nice compromise between accessing touristy stuff and wandering into quaint, off the beaten track restaurants and bars.

The hotel itself was fine. The room was a bit small, by American standards, but well appointed for Europe. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom would definitely be an issue if you are sharing the room with someone and want more privacy, but if it's you alone or you are with a loved one, it's fine. Our air conditioning didn't work particularly well, but the weather was nice enough that we could open the windows. The view from the top of the hotel is nice, although you have to pay a small fee to access it.

In the end, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the Park Inn and would go back again.

“Alexanderplatz is the place to be!”

Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz

5 of 5 stars
Englishwoman living in Italy

We spent three nights at this hotel from 13th to 16th June. We chose it for its good location(near to many major sights) and for the good local transport to be found right near the hotel, taking you all across Berlin and to the various airports.

The hotel is in the middle of a big shopping area and is opposite the famous television tower. Yes, it is a big hotel but we found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 16th floor with a lovely view over the square and tower. Everything was very modern and yes, the bathroom is a little strange, but it was a very comfortable room and the only down side is once again the lack of storage space. There was a good wardrobe but no drawer space - you can't hang everything in a wardrobe! Ask for a room overlooking the shopping square. If you get one on the side of the main entrance you'll be looking at a building site. Note that Berlin seems to be one big building site as construction work is going on everywhere you look.
We had breakfast included and there was a lot of choice on offer, mainly cold dishes, but a few warm ones too. It was all very tasty but you obviously need to get a deal with breakfast included. I would never do otherwise.
In the evening the hotel offered a very good buffet of starters, main courses, salads, desserts and cheese - as much as you wanted for 19 Euros! I think this was a bargain in a capital city.
Sightseeing tours leave from opposite the main entrance and take you past the main sights in Berlin and as it's a big city it's worth doing on your first visit to Berlin.
We were pleased with the overall service in this hotel and would certainly consider going again.

“Perfect location, lovely rooms, great value”

Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz

Jun 21, 2008

Park-Inn Alexanderplatz has recently been renovated, and they have done a marvellous job. The rooms are small, more like cabins, but elegant and practical. My room had a view to the Alexanderplatz itself, with the old tv-tower from DDR. This TV-tower is a landmark, and it's so tall that you are able to make it back to the hotel from any part of Berlin. And the location is excellent - walking distance to Hackesche Markt with all the bars and shops, not to far to walk to Brandenburger Tor etc, and only a short taxi ride to Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg. It wasn't very expensive either, so I will definitely stay here next time I go to Berlin.

“Very good”

Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz

Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz is a very good choice for Berlin. It is superbly located, at the Alexanderplatz, opposite to a huge shopping mall and surrounded by shops. The TXL bus from Tegel Airport stops a few meters from the hotel and both U and S-Bahn stations are very close.

Rooms (I had a business friendly room) are spacious and have a very interesting design, with plenty of glass. Unfortunately, the windows are not completely soundproof.

Try breakfast buffet at Spagos restaurant – it is quiet and have a very wide choice of products. Avoid the main restaurant as it is full of tourists.

Next time in Berlin I will definitely choose Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz.
