“Breathtaking view”

Hotel Cohiba

4 of 5 stars
Asheville, North Carolina
Jun 9, 2008

You can't access this place by car so pack light!! We had to drag our luggage from several blocks away as we arrived on a busy Sunday when everyone was at the beach. Once we arrived we were thrilled with the view as well as free bottled water and a basket of fruit to greet us. Staff spoke very little English (it is Spain after all!) but were friendly. Breakfast was included and was really tasty. There are beach chairs/umbrellas for rent right in front of hotel (8 euro for 2 chairs) and you can get food/drink service from bar in hotel. There is a nice jacuzzi on the roof and Internet access in the lobby/restaurant. The bar was very popular with everyone on the beach--it was always packed.

“Cant get much better than this location”

From the time we arrived late on a Saturday morning we were made welcome. Your reviews stated that the staff didnt speak any English but this is not true they are friendly, anxious and extremely efficient. We had travelled from Frigiliana where we attended a wedding but stayed in the outback The hotel Cohiba made our holiday complete. Situated on the seafront, the room might have small but the view and the bar made up for that. You awake in the morning to the sound of the waves and the breakfast is served to you on the beach. The Hotel Cohiba is in the centre of the long promenade but it is surrounded by a number of Language Schools, you dont see any students by day but at night they're everywhere. We would return to this hotel because of its location and facilities.

“Absolutely Perfect”

Hotel Cohiba is a dream! We stayed there for 5 days in march. There are 2 rooms (more like suites) located on the roof and we were lucky to have one of those! The bathroom was gigantic and brand new, and the room was also big enough (With ocean view!). On the roof is a big terrace with lounge chairs and a jacuzzi, open to all guests. Great after a tiring day in Malaga City! The beach in front of the Hotel is kinda messy but we spent most of our time in the jacuzzi anyway. At the bar of hotel cohiba they serve great Mojito's and on fridays and saturday it's crowded with locals. Maybe some people find it a disadvantage that it's located quite far from the city centre, but the promenade is great for romantic walks. Breakfast is served rather late (starting at 10AM) but it's worth waiting for. We would definitely stay there again!

“Don't take a double room”

Hotel Cohiba

Jan 16, 2007

The double rooms are tiny and more like a single, the bed is a larger single and pushed against the wall in the corner, otherwise you cannot even walk to the window, 1 bedside table is a shelf fixed to the wall at such a height that the person lying on that side will bump his head when getting up. No desk but a tiny round table in the corner, no place to put your luggage but on the floor.
When we went down for breakfast at 9 we were told it's only available from 11.30. We left without.
OK it's right on the beach but next time I go somewhere else.

“Great Location!”

Hotel Cohiba

4 of 5 stars
Salt Lake City, UT
Oct 24, 2006

We stayed at the Hotel Cohiba for 3 nights in June 2006. It was our first stop in Spain, to which neither my boyfriend or I had ever been.

The location was great. It was right on the beach, with restaurants and bars all around it. The hotel had a bar, which opened out right onto the sidewalk in front of the beach.

The rooms were small, but nice. We had no trouble getting an ocean view room. (Although there are not balconies on the rooms). The jacuzzi on the roof of the hotel and free daily breakfast were nice touches, also. The staff was wonderful. We don't speak much Spanish at all, but we managed to get by just fine. There is a bus that is easy to catch a couple of blocks from the hotel that runs to the center of downtown, where there are lots of things to see.

I would definately stay here again!
