Stayed 4 days at Casa Maria. My elderly parents were glad to have access to a lift (although its only on the 2nd floor), and our excellent host, Simon, made it clear that we were free to pop in and out as we wished. Simon made us very welcome, provided fresh linen daily and prepared a lovely breakfast including bread and melon bought fresh from the nearby market each day.
Simon was happy to share ideas for places to go and eat and, put simply, just made us feel very welcome - like we were going home each night, and I suppose that is the reason, rather than the facilities, that I would rate Casa Maria as above average.
Casa Maria is very handy for the town and train station. Girona is a fantastic city, with everything within easy walking distance. Walk the city wall for breathtaking views, or just stroll around enjoying the fascinating array of buildings, alleyways, etc.
