This was our second stay at Al Santo returning with another couple for a week exploring The Veneto. As other reviewers have remarked the hotel is well positioned in the old town and close to the Basilica of St Antonio, a visit to which became part of my early morning routine stimulated by the time-check - see below. Rooms are varied in size, furnishing is basic but overall clean and functional. Our friends spent their first night in a strangely shaped street-facing narrow room with twin beds placed head to head like a school dormitory. After talking to the helpful hotel receptionist they were moved to a much larger room at the back of the hotel for the rest of the stay.
As regards noise you are in a 'Hobson's Choice' situation at the Al Santo. Front facing rooms suffer from traffic noise, the hotel fronts directly onto the narrow one-way street. Rear facing rooms enjoy the sound of the bells from the adjacent Basilica starting at 6:00 am with a time check, 7:00 am time-check and call to Mass followed by further performances until you finally give in and get up. Breakfast OK but basic. Restaurant next door serves good food. People running the hotel friendly and helpful but speak limited English and French. OK value for money.
