“Very noisy”

NH Brussels City Centre

Jul 1, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the NH Hotel for 4 nights. The room was small but modern and comfortable. When we arrived with our luggage nobody offered to help carry it for us even though there were a staff at reception .We had to lift our cases down stairs while they watched us!
Unfortunately there was a lot of building works going on next door on either side of the hotel and our room was VERY noisy especially early in the morning. After complaining we were given a quieter room and a reduction for the first night.
The buffet breakfast is quite substanial however it is not cheap. There are many places nearby where you can get delicous breakfasts and lunches quite cheaply.
I would recommend that you check with staff before booking this hotel to make sure the building noise will not be a problem.Apart from these problems it is a clean modern comfortable hotel in a very good position for sightseeing.

“Beautiful junior suite”

NH Brussels City Centre

5 of 5 stars
Lima, Peru
Jun 20, 2008

Our junior suite was stylish and comfortable.
The room was not big but very cosy, with a nice textured wall behind the confortable twin beds. The lighting was warm but we needed a more powerful light too, especially when packaging.
There is a pillow menu as in all NH hotels.

There was a sofa, a nice desk and another TV set in the living room, with a big assortment of magazines, and a modern coffee-maker. It would have been nice to have a water boiler too.

Though NH is a Spanish chain, there are no channels in Spanish.

The junior suite was a women´s one, with special and plenty toiletries, slippers and thick robes.
There were Godiva chocolates, a good short stories book and mineral water as a welcome gift.

It´s very silent, though it´s in a busy square.

The bathroom is very nice and spotless, with a great water flush in the shower, phone, Kleenex dispenser and the toiletries mentioned, but we didn´t like the translucent door.

Both check-in and and check-out were quick. The staff is friendly and courteous, especially Gloria, who helped us a lot. She and other members of the staff speak Spanish, which was great for us.

Nevertheless, we had a problem with the points won in other NH hotels, that weren´t honored. I required both when we arrived and when we left and the points never showed up in my record. Weeks later I received apologies and I hope to use them in the future.

The buffet breakfast, included, was great, in a big and nice restaurant.

The location is good, with an adjoining supermarket and many nice shops in the neighborhood. Walking the three blocks to the metro is a pleasure. Some trams pass in front of the hotel. It´s walking distance to Sablon and many interesting places.

A tip: if you carry luggage, use the side street because there is a little stair traspassing the main entrance.

“Stay on the Weekend!”

NH Brussels City Centre

5 of 5 stars
Torrance, CA
Jun 9, 2008

We booked NH City Centre Brussels on booking.com for 2 nites for only 139 euros. They have a weekend special at this hotel which included a great buffet breakfast. I think Brussels is big for business travelers, so the weekends offer better deals. This was a great deal that we got here. The room was on the small side, but very sleek, modern and clean, with a nice bathroom. They charge for internet access, but I was able to pick up a free signal. Also, there is a mini bar in the room, which we were able to use for our own food and drinks. The buffet breakfast was amazing...there was a variety of juices and coffees, breads, cereals, fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausage, really anything you could possibly want. I highly recommend staying here on the weekend, if you can get the same special rate that we did. I think it is much more expensive during the week, so I can't comment on what kind of value that will be.

“Nice location and tidy rooms”

NH Brussels City Centre

May 26, 2008

The hotel is well located and easy to reach. However, when breakfast is not included it is very expensive (19 euros) such as the drinks and room service. The international staff is willing to help but there were some communication problems. Apart from this, we were quite pleased about our accommodation in Brussels.
