“Lisboa Fantastic”

As many have noted, the hotel is fresh off a renovation. Everything was really top notch. Our room was really great, great views, great location as the hotel sits on top of a subway station and it is really easy to get into downtown in just a few minutes. The staff was wonderful and the views from the lounge on the top floor are spectacular. Only down item would be the 'wet' spa charge which was like $20USD.

“Very Modern Hotel”

Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa

This is one of the most modern hotel rooms I have ever stayed in – we liked the firm beds and the blackout shades. The bathroom is great but I agree there were too many switches. We did not like the automated minibar since it meant we could not keep any thing we needed cold. The hotel information booklet on the desk says there are ice machines on each floor but that is not the case. It would have been a surprise in Europe.

The location is not bad as long as you ask for help with the public transport. The buses were great once we knew what bus numbers to use – they took us to the tourist area and Belem very easily. The subway was not so great but we liked the bus system. I wish we had gotten the public transport pass since we would have been more convenient.

“Excellent Hotel with wonderful ammenities”

Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a 4 day trip to Lisbon over Memorial day weekend and I could not have been happier with my choice. The rooms are excellently appointed (we were on the club floor) and the hotel itself is immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful and the morning breakfast buffet (complimentary for club floor rooms) was more than adequate.

Rooms:

The rooms were comfortable and adequately sized. As many others have said, the beds are fantastic (if you like a firm mattress). We also loved the blackout shade which literally blocked out all outside light, perfection! The bathroom was sleek and functional and the shower was awesome. All in all, great rooms.

Spa:

We both has a hot stone massage at the hotel spa and it was relaxing and pleasant, though probably not worth the 120 Euro cost. The spa facilities are relaxing and the fitness facilities were adequate.

Hotel in General:

Very clean and tidy with friendly staff and good services available.

Location:

Despite some other reviews of this being in a bad location (not near touristy stuff) we loved it. One of the buses to downtown stops literally half a block away and gives you a wonderful 5 minute scenic ride to the touristy attractions. There's also a subway about 5 blocks away that takes you downtown and to the train that goes up to the beaches. If you're not a walker, this hotel may not be for you but for those of you who travel like we do, (read: walking EVERYWHERE and ignoring touristy tours), this is the perfect hotel for you.

The only cons I have are listed below, not deal-breakers to me but perhaps for some people they would be.

Technology:

Wayyyyy too many bells and whistles in this hotel. From the overabundant number of light switches in the rooms to the wake-up call that gets trasmitted to your tv screen after a five minute snooze to the shade on the shower wall divider, there were entirely too many technological details that I personally don't care for.

Club Floor rip-off:

DO NOT pay the extra 50 Euros for the Club floor access. Luckily we didn't have to pay it, but if we had I would have been PISSED! Not only were the appetizers at 5 pm miniscule but anyone, and I mean anyone, from the hotel could come up there and snatch them up. In most other hotels with a club room, there is key access through the elevator to these floors which makes it more exclusive. In this hotel however, there was none of that which makes the whole system somewhat unfair. But, we didn't pay for the upgrade and didn't actually take advantage of the appetizer service at 5pm so to us, this wasn't a big deal at all. Just a warning to others, don't pay for the upgrade, it's not worth it, especially since the rooms are exactly the same.

Other than those two small things...I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this beautiful hotel. It's a diamond in the rough, for sure.

“Sleek with a dash of Fawlty Towers”

Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa

3 of 5 stars
London, United Kingdom

My initial impressions of the Sheraton Lisbon were very favourable. A contemporary and comfortable lobby, borrowing heavily from London's Sanderson and competent, friendly check-in staff. The room has electronic switches for just about everything, and the glass walls of the bathroom allow one to watch TV whilst having a shower.

Unfortunately service can be disappointing at times - from Nelson the buffet maitre sleepwalking his way through the breakfast service to the sometimes non-existent concierge. You'd do well not to rely on the hotel's advice for dinner. The only Portuguese we heard at the 5 Oceanos restaurant was from the waiters, and whilst the place served great seafood, it could have been conceived by the Lisbon tourist board.

The hotel is located in Saldenha, a fifteen minute walk from the central Baixa and Barro Alto areas, and right above the Picoas metro stop - a very pleasant location. Overall, if you can deal with a few shortcomings, this hotel is a very good one indeed.

“GREAT hotel, average location”

Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa

5 of 5 stars
Washington, DC

This hotel had one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Very clean and VERY modern. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was HUGE and had tons of cool little gadgets. Little seating area and desk area were great for lounging at night. Flat screen tv with a few english stations were a bonus.

The location was the only negative about this hotel. The walk down to the sites was about 30-40 minutes. There is a subway stop a block away, but going to the touristy areas required a transfer. This wasn't the worst thing in the world, but we like to be able to walk to places when we are on vacation.

There is a Pizza Hut nearby that has a great lunch time buffet.

The rooms of this hotel really bump it up to the excellent level.
