We had a fantastic weekend at the Scandic. There were three of us staying in one of the superior rooms and it was on the small side for three, but perfectly fine. Heaven knows how four would fit in (the room is designed for four) - the sofa bed wasn't exactly huge.

I was a little worried it would be too noisy being so central (it's right opposite the main train station and above the central tube stop). However, it was very quiet on the 5th floor. It's perfectly situated too with easy access by all forms of transport - the main bus stop is also just around the corner.

All in all, excellent value for money (buffet breakfast included!) and I can't wait to visit Stockholm again. I would most definitely book at the Scandic Continental again.

Had a great stay at the Scandic Continental. It does have typical small rooms but we ask for and received a upgrade and we very pleased with the room and bathroom. The front desk was pleasnt and most helpful throughout our stay. If you are traveling by train the location is perfect. It is right across the street from the central station. also it is convenient for walking the ped. walking/shopping areas and is a nice ten minute walk to Gamma stan or old town which is filled with things to see and places to eat, as well as the charm of an old european city with winding cobblestone streets. The Palace is nearby and is nice to visit--worth the time. The breakfast at the hotel was very nice and well stocked. We recommend it and esp. if you can get an upgraded room.

I stayed in a windowless cabin room on an upper floor. As others have noted, these rooms are tiny, so don't book one if you need a bit of space. Everything was fine though: the room was comfortable and the breakfast good.

As an HH Gold, I was hoping for an upgrade to something bigger. I don't think they do upgrades here. I did get the 50SEK voucher - which is enough for one beer. :)

As was an interior room, traffic noise was not a problem.

Stayed at the Continental for 4 nights in late Oct. Can't comment on the air conditioning and while I agree the rooms are small for 2 people w/ two 26" suitcases, we were very happy. The location is excellent, the front desk people were pretty nice, room was clean and breakfast was great. It *did* get noisy outside our window with lots of bus traffic but the view of the church clock compensated. $146 in advance on their web site was one of the best deals I found.
