Just returned from a 1 night mid-week trip to the New Forest and chose Careys as it looked so nice on the web and the deal was good. £129 for 2 inlc breakfast in a garden room.
We could not get one of there better "Web based offers" on the phone and the receptionist could only offer us £152 deal!
GO ON THE WEB TO BOOK !
I think we were v lucky as we got a great room in the new wing on the gf and it was a real sun trap with a door out to the lovely gardens. Couldnt have been better. Good size room, nice bathroom, Sky on the TV. Tad expensive for the minibar and room service but, hey, what the heck.
Im not sure I would ahve been so pleased with one of the rear rooms overlooking the car park !

Had dinner in the French bistro Blaireau's and was about £50 for the 2 of us but only soft drinks. Excelent food and my wife said the Onion Soup was as good (& hot) as any she'd had tried

We had a lovely buffet breakfast with all the trimmings before setting out on a great trip around the N F and the hotel was well located for everything we needed.
Didnt get a chance to try the spa but it looked good.

If you want a nice clean and presnetable hotel for a trip around the New Forest I recommend Careys Manor.

“Fantastic - the spa facilities are out of this world!”

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the hotel.
The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, the rooms were clean and spacious. The restaurant was very airy, and food was delicious English cuisine.
If you are planning on going to a spa this hotel is fantastic. With the hydrotherapy pool, numerous saunas and steam rooms it will suit anyone who likes to be spoilt.
I can recommend booking one of the spa packages, as the massage, facial and mind and body workshop were out of this world.
We had a garden room, which had 2 single beds, whilst the beds aren’t that comfortable the view and the rest of the hotel make up for it.

“Fabulous Anniversary Break”

we had a fabulous weekend at Careys Manor. we stayed in a four-poster manor room. okay the room was a little smaller than i expected (especially considering the price!) but it was immaculate and had all the amenities we needed. we booked a spa day and had a great time. the spa facilities were exceptionally clean and well laid out. we really did feel relaxed. book yourself a massage to compliment your stay. i had a thai massage which was wonderful. we ate in the thai restaurant and had a very nice meal (food was wonderful although the staff were a little forgetful and we had to keep reminding them) have a delicious smoothy in the thai restaurant for lunch. gorgeous! i particularly loved the lounge with its comfy sofa's and big open fire. it was nice to sit in their and read for a little while or have an appetiser before dinner. breakfast was sumptious and excellant quality and range of food. we choose the buffet option. altogether this was a great place to spend a weekend and i would defintely return (although its not a place for young children!)

Stayed at Careys Manor for a night at the end of April... overall the stay was average and to be honest expected more than that from the reviews & the price of the stay..

The hotel itself is in a lovely location and the main drive looks great, but this is where it starts to change. The main hotel is a lovely old building, but there have been numerous add'ons. To the side, 70's looking rooms have been added and all withbalcony's. This was one of the rooms we had. Standard room, quite outdated, lovely having a balcony but looked cheaped and furniture was old & grotty.

The main thing about the hotel is the spa and we only used the main pool/gym/steam room facilities. This was adequate but enjoyable. One thing that seemed odd was that to enter the spa area, you have to walk through a restuarant!! very bizarre to me!

The bar wasnt upto scratch, simple things like waiters not knowing certain simple cocktails and not having fresh lime/lemon! the room to rest in with drinks, seems lovely at first but upon looking closer again was cheap and tacky with a fack finish all over!

Breakfast? well, this was included in the price so we thought have room breakfast! so we ordered it... again very average, missing simple things like jam with toast etc!

overall, i was an ok stay but expected alot more. Not cheap and dont feel it was worth 130 a night, maybe nearer 80 odd. I can only summarise by saying it all seemed fake and under the covers the service/quality of many of the hotel features was severly lacking!

I love Brockenhurst and we have visited several times. Hadn't tried Carey's Manor before but saw it on our last visit and decided to give it a try. Arrived by train and was picked up by the hotel mini-bus, which was great as my bag was heavy. Room was clean and well decorated - looked out over gardens. Ate at Blaireaus restaurant and the Thai restaurant. Both were very good and had distinctly different feels. Spent a couple of happy hours in the Spa - which is superb. Did some wonderful walks out from the hotel. Went up to Bank and had lunch at the Oak Inn. Carey's gave me a 10% discount for coming by train (which was welcome ).
