“brilliant position for train”

Mestre..not the most attractive place but the hotel is only 2min walk to train station! its the best transport to get to Venice, its 1euro per person each way. so please DO NOT buy the 30euro ticket that last 3 days for the buses, the train is sooo much easier,a lot less cramped and more pleasant.Normally leaving Platform 1 every 15 mins.Buy tickets from man in office and stamp them in a machine before you travel..easy.taxi from airport was 28euro private hire taxi back was 45e!!
The hotel is fine.Clean bedding and room,Small rooms but perfectly fine for sleeping in, shower rooms no bath, and breakfast is usual continental, all you can eat,2 cereals croissants, poached eggs, ham etc Great coffee.
Venice an absolute rip off where restaurants concerned, expect 1 main course,1 dessert and 1 beer around £25 upwards.
There are men selling copies of designer bags(very nice too) near station, they start at 65e but you can easily get them to 15e by walking off..its great!!
Take mosquito repellent,we forgot and got bitten, otherwise its great..
Downside is the restaurant owners dont like you sitting down for just a coffee, you have to eat too..even when its obvious they have 50 empty seats and you are going to be 30mins max!

The hotel is literally 2 minutes from the train station which in turn takes you to Venice in 7 or 8 minutes. Much cheaper than staying in Venice and with such good access to public transport probably easier than staying in Venice. The hotel served us well great staff, simple but ample continental breakfast, clean rooms good shower bathrooms small but everything you need, close to other hotels and shops, cafe's highly recommend.

We arrived at this hotel late evening and were escorted next door to our room, which didn't feel as thought it belonged to the hotel. It was a block separated from the Hotel and the lighting in the lobby was very poor. The room was clean, reasonable size and functional but had no comfort factor. The breakfast was taken back in the hotel next door, the breakfast area was small and adequate but nothing special, in fact on our last morning they appeared to be full and guests had to wait for tables to be vacated before they could have their breakfast. Mestre as the guide books state is not picturesque but it was a fairy central location for getting in and out of Venice. If we were to visit the area again we would not stay at the Hotel Paris, we spent more time in the near by Best Western Bologna as they had a bar, restuarant and coffee shop area.

my wife and stayed at the paris for a week while visiting venice. the hotel is a a nice place tospend your sleeping hours.the rooms are small.the bathrooms are small. everything is very clean. their breakfasts were very good.the employees were very kind and helpful, perhaps a little lacking in english, but adequate if one does'nt speak italian. the really good thing about the hotel is it's location;across the street from the train station and the bus stop. ten minutes to venice
