We chose the Hotel Etruria for our little intimate wedding ceremony. The hotel has a little, cute garden on it's top level, just perfect for us with our three children to have champagne and an intimate ceremony.
The rooms are adequate, a little small and dark, but clean. We chose it because the hotel is ideally located in a central spot in the medieval part of town, with their own private garden, which opens by a gate onto the city park. Our room happened to be the room closest to the garden.
Volterra is a lovely Tuscan hilltown. Big enough to offer museums, restaurants, etc., but not too crowded with lots of tourists. May is perfect there, warm but not hot. The drive to Volterra is through country filled with flowers and orchards.
