when we arrived the entrance and drive looked quite impressive, and then it got slowly worse. checked out the very average room and was amazed to see out of the window broken old windows covering the kitchen area skylights, not good! and a dirty uncovered extractor fan......decided to have a drink in the bar. but beer pumps faulty... bottled beer had to do. even the pictures on the wall were terrible. overall not a very good experiance. its such a shame I didnt take photos !

great hotel now after all the work. Management gives great help and support to local community events. entertainment and ideas very good.
Excellent food quality and service

After a few months of renevations, the Gorteen underwent an amazing make over. Stylishly furbished and warm, it is completely homely. I recommend a nite in the adjoining niteclub, Jensens. Just the ticket for a fun, drunken night out! Great craic, great music, great hotel.
