After reading the previous reviews on TripAdvisor, we were excited about staying at O Donnabhain's Guesthouse in Kenmare. When we arrived, we were greeted somewhat brusquely, given our keys and told when breakfast would be--nothing more.
The rooms were as large as previous reviews had stated; however, we found them to be somewhat spartan and lacking heat on a cold, damp night (the only place we stayed in Ireland that week that did not have heat in either the bedroom or bathroom).
Breakfast the next morning was good. At checkout, we were asked the usual (for the US) "were your rooms okay" and little else.
All in all, we found our reception at O Donnabhain's the chilliest (in more ways thatn one) and our stay the least enjoyable of all the places we visited in Ireland. Given that this was the second most expensive place we stayed during our week there, I would hesitate to recommend this guesthouse.
