“Riverville House - 3 day stay”

Riverville House Kenmare

We stayed at Riverville House in Kenmare for 3 nights. The location is great, just a short walk to the town center. The view from our room was spectacular. We were originally given a room at the back of the house, but the other couple asked if we would switch rooms with them. We wound up with a great view. I don't know the reason they wanted to change rooms but it was a plus for us.

Breakfasts were very good. Margaret was an exceptional hostess. She took time to give us welcoming tea and cookies, she was well informed about the area and gave us some good information about restaurants to eat at.

One day we took a tour of the Ring of Kerry from Killarney. It was about a forty-five minute ride from Kenmare but well worth it. Margaret called ahead and made arrangements for us to get on the tour and we had a lovely day enjoying someone else driving the Ring of Kerry and giving Bill a break from driving "on the wrong side" of the road and a chance to enjoy the scenery.

There was internet access so again we could contact our family back in "the states".

While there was no TV in our room there was a sitting room downstairs which had the internet access and a TV for our use.

All in all, we felt right at home with Margaret at the Riverville House.

Thanks Margaret for a wonderful stay.

We travelled throughout Ireland for two weeks in September and The Riverville House was one of our favourites, Margaret is a wonderful hostess and offered us tea and biscuits after our long day of travel and gave us excellent advice. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented.
The rooms were immaculate and the bed very comfortable--a queensize, not a double. This B & B is in a great location, very quiet but just a 5 minute walk to the town.
I would highly recommend The Riverville House. We travel throughout Europe and are used to the small but efficient bathrooms. We look for ambience and cleanliness, not luxury and this B & B exceeded our expectations.

“Great Hospitality and Location --- Clean and Comfortable”

Riverville House Kenmare

5 of 5 stars

Location: In proximity to Kenmare (walking distance) and the Ring of Kerry, you would be hard up to beat this location with private parking without the tourist-fest that is Killarney.

Hospitality: Margaret is our all-time favorite B&B host (so much so we have visited twice). Hot breakfast each morning and a huge help in getting around, finding good restaurants, and finding good hikes. Margaret doesn't lay on the thick sweetness, but she is very genuine and enjoys people and helping them enjoy the area.

Room: The room is modest, but clean and comfortable. You don't go to SW Ireland to spend time in your room, you go there to relax and refresh after a day's activity. It clearly meets that need. Bathroom is small, but we didn't encounter any problems. Bed was very comfortable. The common area has hot tea, games, and a TV.

We would definitely stay here a third time.

nice welcoming people who were always willing to help out.

However very narrow bathrooms with faulty pluming. No tv and tea/coffe making facilities in the bedroom. Also way too much pine in the house.
Brekfast nice

“Riverville House, cosy B&B in Kenmare, home comforts abound”

Riverville House Kenmare

We stayed at Riverville House in August 07, just returned. On arrival we were shown to a guest sitting room with books, beautiful view and a tv. We had tea and biscuits from Margaret who looked after us wonderfully.

We are a family of 4 and had a family room with really comfortable beds, 1 double and 2 singles. The beds are so comfortable, you sink into crisp clean cotton sheets. The shower in our room was powerful and did the job well!

Breakfast was delicious, not greasy at all, with 2 courses. It was beautifully presented, fresh coffee and juice, even soda bread!
Location is perfect, very quiet - 4 mins walk to centre of Kenmare and a great 7 min walk to the pier along country lanes / fields for a paddle in the sea!
I would recommend this B&B to anyone, don't hesitate, you will be in good hands.
