“Have a Rest at Avarest”

Avarest Bunratty B&B

5 of 5 stars
New Jersey
Jun 4, 2008

Modern, spotless, comfortable, run by a charming family. The kids were great. The little girl asked me where the other "boy" was, referring to my 68-year-old brother. The lounge was a perfect place to relax and chat. A computer was available in the lounge, equipped only with Windows 98, but it still allowed one to catch up on emails. Excellent breakfast. All in all, you won't rest better anywhere in the county.

“Loved Avarest”

Avarest Bunratty B&B

5 of 5 stars
San Diego, California
Jun 3, 2008

I booked a room at Avarest after reading reviews on tripadvisor...I have to tell you this was one of the best places we stayed. The place itself is beautiful and situated in one of the most picturesque towns in Ireland. The room was nice and clean...it's perfectly located if you are flying in or out of Shannon, it's just minutes away from the airport...most of all the owners Deirdre and Freddie are GREAT! They are so nice and hospitable, you really feel like you are part of the family the minute you arrive...Deirdre was kind enough to book a dinner/show for us at Bunratty castle (a must for anyone going to this part of Ireland)...my friend and I loved it!

This is the only bed and breakfast you'll want to stay at if you're in the Shannon/Bunratty area of Ireland...I highly recomment this place and look forward to my next stay (hopefully sooner rather than later) with Deirdre and Freddie.

“Beautiful B&B, Lovely Hostess!”

Avarest Bunratty B&B

5 of 5 stars
New York
Jun 2, 2008

My friend and I spent only one night at Avarest (alas!), and it was truly wonderful. Deirdre is a warm and friendly hostess, with a geniune interest in her guests. She had some great suggestions for us for things to do nearby.

The breakfast was delicious... we both had the pancakes, which came garnished with fresh strawberries. This was a nice change from the standard fare at other B&Bs.

The house itself is lovely, with pretty gardens. Our room was beautifully made up, and the bathroom had a fantastic shower.

The B&B is perfectly located to explore Bunratty Castle... easy access off the main road, and yet far enough from it to be quiet and peaceful.

I only wish we'd had more time to spend there.

“Beautiful B & B and Wonderful Hostess”

Avarest Bunratty B&B

May 30, 2008

My husband I spent three nights at Avarest through this past weekend and absolutely loved it. When we checked in Deirdre helped us book the Medieval Banquet at Bunratty, securing us spots at Sunday evening's 1st banquet. Our room was lovely and spacious, and the shower was to die for - unelievably great water pressure. We decided to leave early to drive the Ring of Kerry on Saturday, and she left milk, juice, fruit salad and yogurt in the guest fridge for us which was perfect for a quick breakfast before hitting the road. We sampled her cooked breakfast the other two mornings and it was wonderful. The proximity to the airport is great and yet the B & B is so quiet. She has three adorable and virtually silent children - if I hadn't actually spotted them when we checked it I never would have known they were there. Deirdre and I had several chats during the course of our stay, and she had great suggestions for things to see and do in the area. The internet access was a great "bonus feature" as well. I highly recommend Avarest as a starting or ending point to your journey - it is a fantastic place to stay.

“A lovely night in Bunratty at the Avarest B&B”

Avarest Bunratty B&B

5 of 5 stars
Madison, WI
May 13, 2008

My sister and I recently spent a wonderful night at the Avarest B&B in Bunratty (Hurler's Cross to be specific:) in mid April. Deirdre was a warm and welcoming host. Her home was beautiful with an amazing garden out front and a warm and inviting interior. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, but it was truly the wonderful hostess that made our one night stay the most enjoyable of all our trip. We would have been very happy to stay additional nights had there been rooms available. The B&B was very close to Bunratty Castle, the breakfast was fantastic (you must try the french toast!) and having both internet access in a general sitting room as well as phones en suite were ammenities to die for. All in all our favorite stay of a one week trip. An absolute must stay! You will not be disappointed.
