We arrived at night and the owner had stayed up, to wait for us, even when we was an hour later than expected. The room was clean, there was no noise and we slept very well after 24h travel. Off cause for $40 you get no luxury hotel, but here you get a lot for you money. If you want a base for seeing all the attraction on yucatan, this hotel is a good choice. Puerto Morelos is not so touristed compared to cancun and playa del carmen. In less than five minutes you are at the beach. If you want pool and everything in your resort, go for an all-exclusive resort.

The people make this place. Always willing to oblige and be helpful. I lost my suitcase the first day I arrived and the lady running the hotel got right on the phone and there it was waiting for me the next morning. They were both great. They even included me in an outing to the botanical gardens with them and we had a real fun day. That is above and beyond. The rooms are clean and anything you need they are willing to help you get. It felt a bit like family. I would love to go back and spend time with them again. Oh and Gabriel is a pretty good cook too! I recommend the seafood fondue. But bring your appetite and or lots of friends cause you can't eat it all! Although it is not right on the beach it is not far walking to the water, and good exercise. The price was reasonable, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Caracol, just a week after they had opened. Our room was quite basic, but nice. Even though the owners, Dunja and Gabriel, were working hard to get the hotel finished, they were very helpful and often stopped working to have a chat with us. Would definitly stay there again, and can recommend anyone to do the same.

I happened upon Caracol Hotel while exploring beautiful Puerto Morelos and decided to grab a room for the night. Clean, neat, economical, close to the beach, great food, and ultra-friendly, genuine service. My "one night" evolved into two weeks! Dunja and Gabriel are just plain wonderful and go out of their way to make sure
your needs are fulfilled. I have strolled every inch of Puerto Morelos and feel Caracol, all things considered, to be the best lodging choice. I'm eagerly looking forward to enjoying another couple weeks at Caracol Hotel this fall.
