We have just returned from a fabulous stay in a two bedroom apartment at the Oaks on Lonsdale. We were with another couple and elected to have the two bedroom apartment which was very spacious, modern, clean and had fantastic views from the balcony and both bedrooms.
The Oaks is located very conveniently only a stone's throw from the train and tram tracks which make Melbourne so easy to travel around.
The kitchen was well equipped and spacious however we only made toast there!! Melbourne has too many good restaurants to dine in!!
I was a little dubious about the reception staff after reading some of the previous reviews but was highly impressed by the service offered - they were extremely helpful and looked after us well, especially Nick.

Arrived at the apartments at eleven in the morning, but they did not offer me early check-in. I had to walk around the city til two in the afternoon. When I finally checked in, I had to carry my own luggage to the room, because there was no porter to assist.

We had a studio apartment on level twenty-three, with views overlooking Lonsdale street and the Carlton gardens. The view was beautiful, and dining outside on the reasonably- sized balcony was something we enjoyed frequently during our stay.

The kitchen was awesome! Magnificent stainless steel fridge and all cook wear available, made cooking outside of home a pleasure!

All furniture and finishes were immaculate- great color scheme, great design- very comfortable and homely!

Massive plasma TV and stereo, cosy living area, a small plasma mounted in the bedroom wall, plenty of mirrored robes for your luggage, and a lovely city view from the bedroom, this place created a relaxing atmosphere.

The bathroom was big, plenty of room to move, with a big bath tub-
perfect for a bubble bath! Included a laundry with washer and dryer-which was awesome!

Service and cleaners were good and responded to our service needs immediately. Thumbs Up!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and recommend this place to anyone despite the initial check-in hiccup.

Two of us stayed in a one bedroom fully self contained apartment. The apartment looked just like the internet pictures. it was near new, roomy enough for a long weekend and had a good sized kitchen. We stayed on the 22nd floor and had fabulous views. The hotel is a very short walk to the train and the free circle cirlce tram. It is also a stroll to the Queen Victoria Markets and Lygon St. We would definitely stay there again. also has a foodstore next door which sells alcohol!

We recently stayed at the Oaks for four nights. We had a one bedroom apartment on the 14th floor and found it very clean, modern and with good quality fittings. The apartment was roomy and the furniture comfortable. Outside the council were repairing footpaths which was inconvenient but the noise didn't impact too much on us.
The kitchen contained everything we could possibly need, but because there were no instructions to the dishwasher and I could not figure it out, we had to ask the staff to turn it on. We also had to get help to find a signal for the large television (again no instructions). The service man who came could not have been more obliging.
We (one with arthritis and one a child) found getting into the shower/bath a challenge. There were no hand rails to hold on to and the bath when wet was slippery. It is an accident waiting to happen.
The bed (we requested two singles and got a king) was very comfortable although the pillows were over-full and kept on escaping.
All things considered, the Oaks is well located, is good value for money and we would certainly recommend it.
