Hotel St. George is a really nice, friendly hotel. Location is excellent, around 10 minutes walk from the National Museum at the top of Wenceslas Square and 5 minutes from I. P. Pavlova Metro station. Our room was spacious, light and very clean; we were on the top (5th) floor which meant we did not have a view, but this was not a problem. There is a safe in the room, the key can be obtained from reception with a deposit of Kc 500, which we got back on departure.

Breakfast was contenental style - croissants, bread, fruit, cold meats, cheese, etc. - a good selection and all fresh and tasty. On Sunday we also had some very nice hot sausages!

We used the jacuzzi pool a couple of times which was very nice and relaxing after a day of pounding the streets of Prague; this is in the "fitness" room in the basement - there are also a running machine, cycling machine and multigym in there which all appear to be good quality and in full working order. There is also a sauna, which is charged at Kc 600 (about £15)

There is a lounge / bar where we had a drink most evenings before bed, and got chatting with fellow guests (most of the residents seem to be English, not surprising given the name of the hotel!) There is also internet access available here, although we did not use it.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful with all requests, including arranging taxi to the airport. We would certainly recommend the St. George to anyone visiting Prague.

Stayed at St george for 4 nights in March 2006.

Very nice hotel, comfy kingsize bed, very clean, mini bar. lovely clean shower room with power shower for relaxing the muscles after the walk into the centre.

Although the hotwl is about 10-15 mins walk from the square in the centre, we thought the location was perfect. Quiet at night because it wasn't in the centre and the walk was good to burn off the calories eaten and drunk with the great cheap beer!

Breakfast was great - so much to choose from ans eat as much as you want - cheese ham, cereal, yoghurts, bread and more - excellent.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to any1 wanting to stay in prague and get a good nights sleep and then a bit of excercise walking into the centre for a hot wine!!

The hotel is really nice, its clean and the staff are friendly and the breakfast is good. It is ideally situated for Wenceslas Square. Prague was lovely, I want to go again in Winter! Next time I would stay nearer the Charles Bridge as this is where most of our time was spent.

Excellent value for money.

Only a short walk to the centre of town. 2 restaurants nearby were also excellent. One was Korean and AUTHENTIC! The other is one of the funkiest places I have been to with a caveman theme. Both were a lot cheaper than city centre restaurants. Walk down the main road to thhe opera house and you will find them.

Staff were professional too.

Room was huge.

Accommodation was good.
Location was not so good, but no problem.

Terrible on the manner of a reception lady with glasses, in charged on the morning of 29th April,2006 at the front desk.
I wonder if she has been properly trained or not as a 4 star hotel employee.
I have never experienced such worst treatment except at the Hotel St.George up to now.

I will never reccomend this hotel to all of my colleagues in my company, Universities, Japan atomic energy society, Japan Travel Burreau, Czech Embassy in Japan, if an appology with proper explanation will be represent to me.

Details will be written in my another mail to the manager of the hotel.
