“Fantastic hotel. Would definitely stay again”

EA Art Hotel William

Jul 23, 2008

The Art William hotel wasn't that easy for us to find. We stayed in Bratislava for only 1 night and drove from Vienna. Because it's in the centre of the old town and that's pedestrianised you can't drive right up to it. It literally took us about an hour of driving around before we realised you couldn't drive up to it.

Once you get inside it looks almost like a store front. The reception is in this little shopping area with a japanese restaurant and some other stores nearby. The rooms though were quite large. Easily the biggest rooms I had ever stayed in in Europe. Very close to American sized rooms. The furniture was all new and the decor modern in an artistic sort of way. In fact, above the giant bed heads were these leather straps hanging off a long horizontal chrome bar. I kept thinking that some people would try to put those straps to good use ;P

The breakfast was extensive and I enjoyed it. Not extremely high quality but a good range of cereals, bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, etc. I'm a picky eater and had no probs going back for seconds.

As I've mentioned before the hotel is in the heart of the old town. the old town is actually quite small (compared to other European cities) so you can walk around it easily from the hotel. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again. It was excellent value for money and a really comfortable stay.

“Good Hotel, They Keep Turning Off the Aircon!”

EA Art Hotel William

Jul 20, 2008

EA Art William is modern with large well furnished rooms in an excellent location. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was mediocre, reasonable choice but average e.g. nasty value cornflakes and soggy reheated croisants.

The major problem is that the air-con is centrally controlled. Not in the sense that a central computer maintains a steady temperature. Rather that the room has a temperature control but the hotel decides to turn it off and on when they feel like it. Usually around midnight just when you need a little cool air to sleep. Reception will happily turn it on again but I don't want to spend my holiday asking them to turn on the air con. For this reason I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, I want some control over the temperature of my room. It may be an excellent place to stay during the winter, assuming they don't play around with the heating!

“Great boutique hotel”

EA Art Hotel William

Apr 2, 2008

Stayed here for 2 nights 28 & 29 March for the Bratislava 1/2 marathon. Travelled here from Vienna (1 hour by train). 600 sk (£15) taxi from train station. Hotel is approx 1 year old.

Very friendly and efficient check in. Large ultra modern room and bathroom. Funky decor 4th floor. Each floor has a different colour scheme. Good TV reception from a 40" plasma screen. Digital safe. Good quality fitments. Nice bathroom tiles and modern shower.

Perfect location right in the centre of town with nowhere more than 5 minutes walk. All of town centre is pedestianised, so traffic noise is very low. Some late night singers did manage to wake me, but it was saturday night and I wake if a sparrow breaks wind!!!

Good breakfast in the basement restaurant. Good selection, all very nice.

Overall a very modern, clean and efficient hotel. Really funky. Could not fault this hotel.

“Great Location, lovely bed!”

EA Art Hotel William

Mar 28, 2008

I stayed in the EA Art Hotel William for two nights with a friend while we explored Bratislava. The hotel is perfectly located in the pedestrianised zone. We got a taxi from the airport which was 600Krone (18EUR). The hotel is funny as people have mentionned before as its in a shopping centre of armani/D&G! Minibar and friendly reception girl also. You get a lift up to the hotel rooms. We were very impressed by the rooms, large, bright, spacious with very comfortable beds. It was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was great! Bright red with white bathroom set - very funky! The shower was very powerful. One silly complaint was the (flatscreen) TV - it myseteriously turned itself on at 6am every night..bit annoying to eb woken up but it was fine.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel as we got a rate of 115EUR per room per night and we were smack bang in the centre.

One tip-there is a lovely irish bar down the road with a mexican restaurant beside - both are well worth the visit!

“Great location”

EA Art Hotel William

Kiwi in Netherlands
Feb 19, 2008

Spent one night at the Art Hotel William. It is perfectly situated to explore the historic city of Bratisla as it sits within the pedestrianised area of the old city.

My room was clean, quiet, very large and fully equiped with mini bar and toiletries. Breakfast was great with both hot and cold options.

Reception is located within the shopping mall and the staff were helpful and spoke good english.

Expect to pay around 400Kr for a taxi from the airport, taking around 20 minutes.
