“A wonderful surprise!”

The Quincy

5 of 5 stars
West Palm Beach, FL

Wow was I surprised with The Quincy. I was just trying to book a cheap room with a decent location. It turns out, our room was ENORMOUS. It had a huge king sized bed, a couch, a desk, even a mini-kitchen! Oh, and a huge bathroom. The room was very nice, the bed extremely comfortable, and everything was spic and span.

The location was great also. Only a few blocks from the White House, we didn't even have to rent a car to see all the signs (though we did walk a few miles to get in most of the monuments). Lots of restaurants nearby as well and the bar next door (Mackey's) was loads of fun. I will definitely stay here again!

“Comfortable Stay”

My husband and I just came back from a quick one night stay in DC. While we've visited the city many times, it was our first time staying at The Quincy. We had a rather frustrating time at the parking garage (which simply enough is Colonial Parking right beside the hotel) dealing with the parking attendant -- who insisted we check-in first, before he would except our car, despite the front desk stating that they would call him with our room number. Despite that initial minor annoyance, we found check-in and check-out to be swift and friendly, they even helped us get our car out of the garage at 5 am the next day. The lobby is small and nothing special, but the rooms were great. We asked for a quiet room and were put on the back side of the hotel facing the alley -- the only loud sounds we heard were the garbage trucks emptying dumpsters in the early morning, but, of course, that's to be expected in a large city. The bathroom was adequate and had some thoughtful amenities, like cotton balls and mouthwash and the bath towels were oversized, soft, and fluffy. The sofa and bed were wonderfully comfortable -- no scratchy, polyester bedspead! We had a wondeful night sleep on a far too short trip. The location was really nice, very close to the metro and surrounded by restaurants -- Mackey's Pub directly below the hotel seemed very popular, although we didn't get a chance to visit it. Definately worth the advance booking price of $116, but not sure I'd be willing to pay the full price of $269.

“Love this hotel”

The Quincy

5 of 5 stars
Wa State Resident

I love the Quincy! The hotel was amazing, the staff was wonderful, and I cannot wait to go back.
The room was well decorated, spacious, and had a comfortable feel. The bed was heavenly, just the right combination of firm and soft. The down pillows were especially nice. The most amazing thing about the room was that the couch was actually comfortable to sit on, unlike most hotel furniture. The wireless internet was speedy, and protected by a code that only guests could access, so download speeds were quite nice.
The staff was wonderful on both checkin and checkout. The most memorable part of the stay was when my travelling partner needed some aspirin, (the front desk doesn't stock any for the guests) but the employee offered some from her purse! That kind of generosity and attention to the guests made the trip so much better.
The rooms were well insulated and even the door downed out noise, something that is rarely found in hotels. The only noise that could be heard was the construction going on outside, but by 9pm the room was quiet. The lack of a continental breakfast was a big downside but the restaurants close to the hotel are reasonably priced so that small fault can be forgiven. Having the microwave and refrigerator in the room really helped to keep leftovers available for second meals.
i cannot say enough good things about this hotel, its location is just a half mile from the white house and the monuments on the mall, the part of town its in feels quite safe even after dark, and the price can't be beaten for being that close to everything DC has to offer.

“Great Location, Great Hotel”

The Quincy

4 of 5 stars
Rochester, NY

We stayed here for a long weekend to see the sights of D.C. Great location, just a block from the Metro. We used the Metro to get to all the sights. The hotel was very nice, clean and the people were very friendly.

A small snag on the reservation side, and the only reason that the rating dropped a bit. We had requested a king, non-smoking, but were assigned a king smoking room. We requested to be switched, but they didn’t have any kings that night. We moved to a double queen non-smoking, and then they moved us again the following day to the king non-smoking that we had originally reserved. They were very nice, even moving our luggage for us while we were out sightseeing.

The area was great; just know that the restaurant next door is closed on Sundays. This seems to be a common theme, as the city definitely empties on the weekends.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I booked a long weekend at this hotel, and I lasted a night before I had to move somewhere else. Upon first glance, this hotel impresses you with a sleek and stylish facade which appears to have been recently renovated. Their website throws around terms like "boutique style" and "superior comfort". Once you pull back the curtain and see Oz, you see the difference between the hot young A-list Hollywood starlet this hotel bills itself as, and the aging B-movie also ran with bad plastic surgery that it is.

The rooms lack fit and polish, with tears in the carpeting, stains on the roof, and a centralized climate control system that means you have A/C or heat only when building management decides you can have it. The furniture is cheap, looks heavily used, and is thrown into the room with little regard for comfort. The staff is marginally civil, but highly unprofessional. When I complained about the lack of A/C despite the fact that the day's temperature had reached nearly 80, I was told to open the window. It was a second floor room that overlooked the dumpsters and the propane tank rack for the restaurant next door. It's "Design Within Reach" pretension on an IKEA budget, except the management of this hotel doesn't have any compunction about charging comparable rates to much better properties.
