“Sweet surprise”

Park Hyatt Washington

I am a big fan of Hyatt hotels but this one was an exceptionally sweet surprise. The staff was plentiful and especially responsive, the room was immaculate, the bathroom seemed as if it were built yesterday, the bench in the elevator was a nice touch and the restaurant was top notch. Even the room rate was not obscene - for DC.

A couple of nits - it's a looong walk to the pool/exercise area, we received no chocolates on our pillow at turndown service time and the Fairmont hotel is RIGHT across the street (don't change your clothes in front of the window if you value your privacy).

Those are very minor points - I had an excellent experience. Note that EVERY staff member said "hello" and smiled every time they came into contact with a guest. SWEET!

“Nice, very nice”

Travelling with the number two guy in the company has its advantages, as I was hosted in the same hotel, at twice my regular budget. The hotel seems brand new - everything is clean and sparkling. The rooms are large, and the bathroom is fantastic. Everything seemed of high quality, the gym is excellent and the food is very good. Service is of the highest standard and the staff is happy to cater for all your needs. The location is also very good, within a short walk of Georgetown.

“A chic city choice”

Park Hyatt Washington

We don't usually stay in Park Hyatts and chose this on the strength of its strong TA reviews, coupled with its Cherry Blossom roomrate that knocked the spots off the neighbouring Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons in Georgetown (these would be our usual hotels of choice)!

The Park Hyatt is a striking design throughout (though a bit too stark for my taste). As other reviewers have commented: bathroom fabulous; storage poor. I also found the layout (a partial division between bed and living area) made the sleeping area feel a bit cramped.

The room was very clean, quiet, had fresh flowers and excellent sheets and towels. The entire property is beautifully maintained and stylish.

I also found the staff to be of a very high standard and would give this hotel my award for the "best coffee served in the US" (I usually find American coffee horribly weak, but at the Park Hyatt they served an excellent Italian brew).

This is a good city hotel and I would recommend it to people who like sophisticated, chic hotels. I would also certainly consider Park Hyatts in other cities on the strength of this experience.

“Flawless”

I travel frequently to Washington D.C and have stayed in some beautiful properties. I am also a very particular traveler and expect much from hotels that tout themselves as service-driven. The Park Hyatt will now by one of my first choices in accommodations in D. C. The service was impeccable, the room was exactly as pictured and described. It was simple, elegant and spare--but had a feeling of luxury. The bathroom is a huge selling point. I only wish that my trip had been longer this time so that I could have more thoroughly enjoyed the entire property.

    • Liked — The bathroom was exceptional.
    • Disliked — This is really digging to find a problem, but the pillows were a little hard for feather pillows.

“Great hotel, Amazing rooms”

Park Hyatt Washington

The Park Hyatt in Georgetown is truly a great hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff was extremely receptive and helpful. We stayed there on New Year's Eve as a treat for ourselves. When we checked in, they upgraded us to a Park Suite. The room was HUGE. You enter into a family room area with several modern sofa's desk sitting area. It had two large windows in the sitting room, with two addition windows in the bedroom, all of which you can open. From there you go into a bedroom with a gigantic bed and 42" LCD TV.

The Bed was extrememly comforatble. I'm not sure if it one of those "heavenly" bed but it sure felt like it. Large down comforter with very soft sheets, and lots of pillows.

Next the bathroom........It was beutiful.....huge shower/tub area with two simultaneous showers, one that was on the ceiling and the other that was on the wall.......In addition the whole bathroom was a unique stone that felt like you were in buddist monestary......The bathroom even had a steam room that you could use......Of course there were soft slippers and huge bathrooms also available.......

In addition to the room itself, we did not go to the restuarant, but we did sample some drinks at the bar. A little on the pricey side, but definately worth it. The bartender was a young lady who made some great Martini's.

Overall, the staff, the room, and the overall quality, far exceeded my expectations. We live in maryland, but if i ever feel like staying in a hotel, Hyatt's where I'm going to look first.
