Stayed here for 3 days of intensive tourism, and the hotel is well-placed for this. The White House is just a couple of blocks away, and walking to the National Mall is feasible. There's also a metro station less than a block away if you prefer.
Apart from breakfast (fine) we didn't eat at the hotel. The immediate area is a bit dead at night in terms of eating, so we walked up to Dupont Circle where there are many good places, our favourites being Afterwords at Kramerbooks and Sette.
The hotel is more luxurious than we would normally go for - even a jazz guitarist noodling tastefully from a balcony overlooking the breakfast room. As in the previous post, we too were put in a room right by the a/c unit, and had to ask to be moved because it sounded like a jet engine parked outside. Sleep would have been completely impossible. This must be quite a problem for the hotel, as the size of the unit means it must impact on a sizeable number of rooms.
