This boutique hotel nestled amongst the brownstones near GWU was comfortable and convenient. After reading many of the reviews for this hotel, I decided to try it out. The room was comfortable with a separate dressing area.
Queen size bed - comfortable with ipod dock/alarm clock
Sitting area with a soft throw for TV watching
Plasma TV on a swivel to view from the bed or couch
Desk - outlets at the base of each lamp
Kitchen - fully stocked with utensils, etc for 2 people. Coffee beans with grinder provided. Pots and pans in case you really wanted to cook instead of trying all the great restaurants in the Georgetown area.
Bathroom - Kohler fixtures with Neutrogena bath products. Robe provided.
Dressing area - modern furnishings with a 2 drawer bureau and large mirror. Plenty of shelf space.
Pros:
1. Free wireless internet in the room.
2. GWU metro station is 3 blocks from the hotel. I felt safe walking from the metro station to the hotel later at night.
3. You can park on the street if you should choose
4. The Trader Joe's is 2 blocks away (closes at 9 pm).
5. There is a Thai restaurant and a bar/restaurant literally around the corner.
Negatives:
1. Shower water pressure was somewhat weak and the water temperature decreased when it was a popular shower time in the morning.
2. The room was clean for the most part, however a few hairs were present in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling (I'm not sure what that was about).
3. You can hear the next room's bathroom through the vents very clearly.
I would stay here again. Georgetown and all it's shopping and restaurants was a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I needed to cut my trip a day short and even though I had booked through hotels.com, they allowed me to check-out a day early with no penalties. There is valet parking with unlimited in/out privileges.
