We stayed at the State Plaza for 5 nights. The property is located on a small street where construction was going on. The lobby was only an entrance with some chairs. We got there after the stated check in time and still had to wait for a room. Staff seemed confused at times. Parking was very limited and charged $30.00 a night. Thank goodness we didn't need our car much or it would have been a hassle to retreive it because parking lot is so small. When we booked this hotel there was a $25 gas card per night promotion. When we asked about it at check out they said they could only give one $25 card and that the promotion had changed.
The rooms were very basic with a small bathroom that needed updating and had a little dressing area. The kitchenette was old with a fridge but no microwave. Floors were old and cracked. The T.V was small on a little stand next to the dresser. The good things about this hotel were the beds were comfortable and it was close to the Metro and National Mall. If you are on a bugdet and want a no frills hotel then this would be good. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for anything over 2 star quality.
