First off, I'll point out that the day we went to CA, it was pouring. That probably had an impact on our day as the crowds were small, the parades were cancelled, and we didn't get to enjoy the theming as much as we would.
We entered the park when it opened at 10am. We went into a gift shop to buy ponchos, and then we headed to Soarin. The wait was about 10 minutes to get on the ride, and it's worth it. The ride is really well done, and quite innovative. After doing the ride at EPCOT, I knew not to miss it in Anaheim!
After that we walked into the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, and went to the Tower of Terror. Due to the rain and the small crowds, we literally walked right onto the ride. Very similar to what is in Florida. This ride is very well done and the effects are awesome. An excellent view from the top of the Tower, overlooking the Anaheim area.... until you plummet 13 stories.
We then walked to the Pacific Wharf and had lunch at the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, which was decent, but the cost really high.
We walked to the Paradise Pier, and my friend went on California Screamin. He really enjoyed it, but the rain pelting his face kindof hurt. We walked right past the boardwalk games, because I don't go to Disney to pay to play games.
We then walked around and back to The Hollywood Pictures Backlot and went to Muppets 3D. It's a good, funny show and the 3D aspect adds a little something extra.
We then went to the Hyperion Theatre to see the Aladdin Musical. The theatre is huge, it must hold over 2000 people, and it has 2 balconies. The show itself was quite well done, and they pack most of the Aladdin story into 40 minutes. The genie is the highlight, and the comedian who plays him is quite funny.
After, we felt we'd done everything major at the park, so we headed back to Disneyland for the rest of the afternoon.
This park has some good attractions and shows, but it is my least favorite Disney Park overall. There just doesn't seem to be enough to fill an entire day. The Tower of Terror and Soarin are two rides worth doing, but we found we'd done most everything in about 4 hours. This might have been different if it hadn't been raining, and we could've enjoyed the theming and parades.
