Decided on another trip to Disneyland but wanted to save money for the trip and not looking to spend a lot on the accomodations. After researching almost every hotel in walking distance to the park, we decided on Park Place Inn. This was for a 7 day stay so we were desiring convenience and a comfortable place. Arrived around 2pm on Saturday and our suite was ready. In reserving our suite, I asked for the uppermost floor (there are 3) and in the rear (so we didn't have to listen to the traffic on Harbor Blvd.). They did give us exactly that. I have 2 kids (2 and 5) and wanted enough room for them to run around. The suite had 2 king beds and a sofa pull out. A partition divided (somewhat) the sofa from the beds but was plenty big for all (2 kids, my spouse, Grandma & me). Taking a look around the room, it was in good shape (considering the amount of people who frequent the hotel) and the bed sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom had some wear on it but the shower head was nice with a u-shaped curtain rod. Could have used more coffee supplies but we ended up taking several from the maid's cart. Had several avaliable channels on the TV and couldn't even hear our neighbors. We settled in (quickly) and headed straight for the park. Took us 10 minutes to get to the front gate and we were in! The location was perfect. The only downside to this hotel is the tight parking and the Captain Kidds restaurant. For the parking, I recommend (if your not planning on driving anywhere) unload your items when you find your room and park in the back, against the concrete wall. We had a Chevy Tahoe (not small) but had plenty of room by parking back there. I was afraid of door dings from careless drivers but the Tahoe was unscathed after a week of sitting in one spot. Now on to Captain Kidds. They give you coupons for a free breakfast (Mickey Mouse Pancake or regular short stack) and coffee or juice. Nothing else, so don't expect much. I was the only one to order bacon on the side (which I paid for in more ways than one). The next day I became ill and ended up spending half day in the park and the rest on the toilet in the hotel. I was sick the whole night. I was the only one in our group that got sick and the only one to order something different at breakfast. Can't truly pinpoint it to that but VERY close. I did end up using the breakfast buffet the rest of the week but stayed to muffins and dry cereal. Many other restaurants are in walking distance and really liked eating at Molly's (great selection and yummy food). Had a very long wait for Tony Roma's (not recommended). All in all, it turned out to be a stress free vacation and I highly recommend the Park Place Inn & Suites.
