Decided on another trip to Disneyland but wanted to save money for the trip and not looking to spend a lot on the accomodations. After researching almost every hotel in walking distance to the park, we decided on Park Place Inn. This was for a 7 day stay so we were desiring convenience and a comfortable place. Arrived around 2pm on Saturday and our suite was ready. In reserving our suite, I asked for the uppermost floor (there are 3) and in the rear (so we didn't have to listen to the traffic on Harbor Blvd.). They did give us exactly that. I have 2 kids (2 and 5) and wanted enough room for them to run around. The suite had 2 king beds and a sofa pull out. A partition divided (somewhat) the sofa from the beds but was plenty big for all (2 kids, my spouse, Grandma & me). Taking a look around the room, it was in good shape (considering the amount of people who frequent the hotel) and the bed sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom had some wear on it but the shower head was nice with a u-shaped curtain rod. Could have used more coffee supplies but we ended up taking several from the maid's cart. Had several avaliable channels on the TV and couldn't even hear our neighbors. We settled in (quickly) and headed straight for the park. Took us 10 minutes to get to the front gate and we were in! The location was perfect. The only downside to this hotel is the tight parking and the Captain Kidds restaurant. For the parking, I recommend (if your not planning on driving anywhere) unload your items when you find your room and park in the back, against the concrete wall. We had a Chevy Tahoe (not small) but had plenty of room by parking back there. I was afraid of door dings from careless drivers but the Tahoe was unscathed after a week of sitting in one spot. Now on to Captain Kidds. They give you coupons for a free breakfast (Mickey Mouse Pancake or regular short stack) and coffee or juice. Nothing else, so don't expect much. I was the only one to order bacon on the side (which I paid for in more ways than one). The next day I became ill and ended up spending half day in the park and the rest on the toilet in the hotel. I was sick the whole night. I was the only one in our group that got sick and the only one to order something different at breakfast. Can't truly pinpoint it to that but VERY close. I did end up using the breakfast buffet the rest of the week but stayed to muffins and dry cereal. Many other restaurants are in walking distance and really liked eating at Molly's (great selection and yummy food). Had a very long wait for Tony Roma's (not recommended). All in all, it turned out to be a stress free vacation and I highly recommend the Park Place Inn & Suites.

We just returned from our stay @ the bw park place inn. Conveniently located directly across the street from the disney shuttle bus drop off. It is only a short 5 minute walk to the enternace. Overall we were happy with our choice, the room was clean and neat. The furnishings were in good shape. There is no minibar or snacks provided in the room. There is a microwave oven and small fridge. The coffee maker makes coffee by the cup, plactic cups only, no mugs. No herbal tea. Plenty of clean towels provided. We stayed right next to the pool and there was no trouble with noise from the pool. There was however trouble with the noise from the room above us. The plumbing above us was VERY noisy. The guests unfortunately chose to shower late at night, after 11pm. This happend twice. My recommendation of this hotel would be to improve in room amenities, fix the plumbing and improve the free breakfast. It would have been nice to have coffee in a mug and eat off real plates with real cutlery. If proximity to the park is important to you this is the best pick.

“Excellent Customer Service - But Too Dark and Dirty for Us”

I had very high hopes for this hotel. Everyone here is right, the location to Disneyland just cannot be beat. But if you don't like your room, then what is the point?

We flew in early from Seattle, and had just had an awful hotel experience the night before our flight. So we were definitely looking for something better here. And I was disappointed.

When I made the reservation I had requested a King Room with a pullout. There are 4 of us, 2 adults, and 2 kids. So we lug all our luggage upstairs to this new room, only to find it only has 2 double beds. So downstairs I go only to find out that they were in the middle of renovating all the King Bed rooms. So she put us into a another room. Well, after our experience in Seattle the before it just wasn't going to do. So I paid extra and got a suite. 2 Queen (Double) beds and a pullout. An extra $20.00 a night. We then proceeded to bring all our bags to that room. There was no bell staff or at least the front desk clerk never mentioned it to us. Getting to your particular room isn't the easiest thing. The way the motel is designed, you have to take certain elevators to certain levels and whatnot, it was a pain.

So we get to this new room, and it is bigger, but it was just so dark in there. Not to mention we got one of the old bathroom that hasn't been renovated yet. And we found out why they are renovating them all. It was yellow, with these permanent brown stains on it. It was disgusting. But hopefully that is a non-issue now, because as I said they are renovating them all.

The pool is just too small for the amount of guests staying there. Same with the laundry. 2 machines.

Having the fridge and microwave was great. But the room itself was just too dark and the tub was gross. So the next day we packed up and left. I had booked the hotel through a package, and my experience with these packages are, once they have your money, they couldn't care less. So I checked out, and moved. They tried to accommodate me when I was checking out, but we had already booked the other hotel. I got a refund on the extra $20 a night I paid. When we got to the other hotel we had called home to tell them we had moved and they said that the Park Place Inn had just called trying to get a hold of us. So I called them, and spoke to Jan, the reservation manager. She told me that she was sorry that the hotel didn't meet our standards that that she wasn't going to charge the travel company we booked through the remainder of the nights we had booked. So I called GetAwayToday and I got the money back on my credit card right then and there. That really was a nice surprise.

So from the front desk to Jan, I found the customer service to be excellent. The place was just a little too run down for us. If this doesn't bother you, then definitely stay here, the location is the best.

“~Location!, Location!, Location!!!~”

LOVE THE LOCATION!!! We stayed here for 4 nights Dec. 13th -17th. 2 Adutls, 2 boys 5 yrs and 2 yrs. Found the Location to be unbeatable. The property was clean, the rooms were back off the busy street, staff was Super Helpful, decent Continental Breakfast, clean rooms ect.. The property is EXACTLY across from the Disneyland Transit entrance off Harbor Blvd. The quickest route around!! We walked across the crosswalk, past the transit pickup area, through the security checkpoint and were in front of both parks in the center. I would say it is a shorter (& WAY less crowded) walk then from Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Peir...and definetely cheaper!!
The Standard room comes with One King bed and a sofa bed that could sleep 2 small kids. We requested a move to a Double bed room for more comfort and room for the crib. The Double room was 2 full size beds...not Queens.
The decor is nice, wallpaper looks a little dark...and the carpets could use a SERIOUS shampoo...my socks got dirty gross after walking around unpacking!! YUK.. Maybe a replacement is in order??
The bathroom looks newly updated with granite tops and nice tiles, but the wallpaper had some mildew around the shower and they skipped replacing the molding around the mirror and doors, opting to repaint over some defects.. to save $ i'm sure, there was a botched patch job over a fan in the shower?? and the Heater had a yukky musty dirty smell when turned on, the AC smelled fine out of the same unit.
But all this is esthetics...who cares... It was clean, quiet (except for friday morning? Garbage day? Construction?)...never heard any noise from the rooms around us = of course the passerbys with chatty kids outside the doors though, and really what do you do there but store your stuff and sleep and shower? GREAT!!

Captian Kids hosts the Continental Breakfast right next door from 6am to 9:30am, free of charge, tips accepted of course! The breakfast consisted of, 2 kinds of toast, 2 bagels, cream cheese, butter, and jelly, danishes, donuts, Hard boiled cold shelled eggs, Apple or Orange juice, 2% or skim milk, Coffee, and a variety of cold cereal, Raisin bran, Corn Flakes, Cherrios, and Fruit Loops. Buffet style on tiny plates! The eggs made a nice addition for some much needed protein to start the day!!

We will definetely stay again!!! I recommend! Great for the price and location!

“Very convenient”

Best Western Park Place Inn - Mini Suites

My family of 5 stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn from Sep 30th 2007 to Oct 6th 2007. We had a wonderful stay.

The very best reason to stay at this hotel is the location. It is so convenient. On the first day of our trip I used a stopwatch to see how long it would take us to get to the park. You walk out of the hotel and literally you are at the crosswalk to head to the park entrance. We went through security at the entrance, went to the ticket booth to pick up our park hoppers and were in line to go throught the park turnstiles in 6 minutes.

We never did come back to the hotel during the days but it would be very easy to do so if you wanted to. Each night we were so thankful when we reached the intersection and we were already at our hotel. Our last trip we stayed at the Howard Johnson down the street. The Park Place Inn is a significantly shorter walk, especially at the end of a long day.

We had the Mini Suite with two queen beds and a sofa pull out. The room was a very nice size with plenty of room for all our stuff and our stroller. We enjoyed having the extra room with the couch and coffee table. The room also had a microwave and a decent sized fridge. Overall it seemed to be pretty clean and housekeeping did a nice job.

The main positives are the location and the size of the room. Other than that it is pretty average. There isn't a lot of light in the room and the colors are pretty dark which doesn't help. We consistently had trouble with our room keys all week. We had them give us new access cards and that didn't seem to help either. We would have to swipe the card several times before the door would finally open. And as everyone else has mentioned the parking spaces are extremely tight. We managed to get a pretty decent spot and then didn't dare move our car for most of the week. We only tried the continental breakfast next door on the first morning. It wasn't very good. Even though it was free, we did not choose to eat there again. I really can't comment on the pool. The pool area was closed the entire time we were there.

Even with some of these small issues, overall it was still a positive stay. We did like our room (last trip) at the Howard Johnson better. But the convenience of the Park Place Inn is impossible to beat. We would definatly stay at either of these hotels again. The decision will come down to price.

October was a great time to visit Disneyland. The weather was great and both parks were all decorated for Halloween. On the last night of our stay we went to Mickey's Halloween treat at DCA and that ended up being the highlight of our trip. The Kids loved the trick-or-treating and all the characters in Halloween costumes.
