“Nice Stay”

We stayed for 3 nights at BW Stovall on August 10-13 and had a very pleasant stay. Check in was quick (and early!) The staff was very courteous and had written directions handy to various areas of interest. The room smelled clean and the beds were soft and welcoming. We did walk to Disney and back once, but for the price, $8 a piece for 3 days, and the Anaheim Resort bus stop being right in front, we did the bus. There was a variety of items in the continental breakfast. Bagels, waffles, muffins, toast, shelled hard boiled eggs, fresh apples, oranges and bananas, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, juices, a good ineup to get the day started. We got a terrific rate through Orbitz that couldn't be matched or beat by the Best Western site. There were 2 pools and 3 hot tubs, unfortunately invaded by a few small children whose parents weren't paying attention. When they weren't in attendance the area was very pleasant to snooze and relax in. Wouldn't mind staying here again at all.

I was looking for a basic hotel/motel near Disneyland for my daughter and I. Although the place is outdated, I was expecting hot showers, a hair dryer that worked more than 30 sec. at a time, and a continental breakfast that wasn't mostly sugar. On 3 different mornings there was no hot water in the shower from 7 to 8:30, on one morning it wasn't until after 9 and it was barely warm. The hair dryer would work for 30 sec. or less before going out, luckily I had something that could help me dry my hair. The continental breakfast was disappointing.

We weren't expecting a lot, and received even less.

Counter service was very good, we were treated well. The rooms were adequate, seemed tight for a party of 4, we were not in the rooms much except at night. Rooms looked a little worn but were for the most part clean. Room service was good, our rooms were cleaned every day.

One of our party did wake up and found a centipede like bug in his bed, there were also a couple of little ant like bugs in the bathroom gaining entry through a crack in the tile floor by the wall.

Pools were nice, and it was not a long walk to Disney. Continental Breakfast was nice. Was not impressed by the shuttle bus service, took too long.

We've been staying at Stovall's for over 15 years and never been disappointed. Yes, it's a bit dated but when most of your time is spent at Disneyland with your eyes open and at the Hotel with your eyes closed.....who cares!! The rooms have always been clean and well stocked. Fairly quiet. Front desk is always very prompt and accomodating. Never have worried about safety or our vehicle while there. They do have night security. Never a problem with any of security stuff though Staff is friendly. We feel like it's our home away from home.

If your looking for frills, this ain't it. If you want designer sheets, wallpaper, carpet.....this ain't it. If you're looking for a clean, family friendly place that is safe, close to Disneyland, friendly and unpretentious, then this is it.

“Great Value”

As far as 2 star hotels go, this has to be the best in class. If you are looking to save some money on your Disney trip, this is a good place to start. Front desk staff were on the ball and very helpful. Rooms were clean and the Housekeeping was great. The contenental breakfast was the big money saver over our 5 night stay considering breakfast at Cocos next door ran about $40 - $50 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Appeared the construction was wrapping up when we arrived. Hotel Management would not let the workers start early or work late in consideration of their guests. We did not even notice it. Will definitely consider this place again for a future stay, especially when I figure it saved me about $800 or so compared to the 3 star across the street.
