Changes In Latitudes Bed and Breakfast

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Renita and Cindy. Having never been to Belize I relied heavily on their helpful recommendations prior to, and during our visit, with regards to logistics and optional attractions. I cannot adequately express how helpful they were, from arranging our flight from Belize City to providing postage stamps. They called restaurants, gave directions and set up our snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley with the fabulous L'il Alphonse as well as the amazing massages we had at Tropical Touch Day Spa.

The delectable breakfasts (provided by friendly and informative Renita) were a perfect way to start the day and a chance to compare notes with the other guests.

I almost didn't book Changes in Lattitudes because it isn't right on the beach and doesn't have its own pool. But with only a few steps to the beach and with complete access to the pool next door, we were probably closer to the ocean and a pool than we would have been at many of the larger hotels. We never needed any transportation as everything was within walking distance. And even being right in the midst of San Pedro, the property was very peaceful, and quiet at night. Several nights after dinner we would play Scrabble or hang out in the hammocks, enjoying the soft music piped into the arbor-covered sitting area.

The rooms are very, very small, but clean and adequate. We had bunk beds - I had the lower double bed and my 22-year-old daughter climbed to the upper single. My most important requirements were met: clean, comfortable beds, and a shower with good water pressure and sufficient hot water.

All in all a great experience.

Changes in Latitudes definitely changed our attitudes! We had a wonderful and restful time. The b&b is very peaceful and a beautiful setting. The grounds are well maintained and there is lots of space to relax and unwind including a comfy courtyard with chairs couches and two hammocks. There are also convenient lockers for hanging wet swimsuits and dive equipment. It is also very centrally located with access to all bars and restaurants. The hosts Renita and Cindy could not have been more accommodating or fun! They also took care of all excursion arrangements and just let you know you were confirmed. They really went out of their way to find the best deal and the most high quality experience. We would highly recommend this b&b to anyone considering a stay in Belize!

Changes In Latitudes Bed and Breakfast

My wife and I used to vacation regularly in Mexico 25 years ago, but recent experiences left us less than satisfied. When planning this trip as a Bachlorette Party for my daughter, she suggested we consider Belize. After a few contacts with diver-friends of mine, it was apparent that this is a great location to visit. The next step was "Where"? We have always liked to try to find the unique places when we travel - big, crowded resorts are not our preference. When we discovered the C.I.L. website, I think we stayed on it for a couple hours. All the accomodations sounded great, the attitude of the owners was welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast option was a clincher. Through several extremely helpful and informative e-mails with Cindy and Renita (C & R), everything was arranged for our party of 8 and we were on our way.

Based on the concept that (almost) all we do in our rooms is sleep, the rooms are "adequate" (read "small" by U.S. standards). My wife and I lucked into the nearby Garden Room at an adjacent property (thanks again, C & R), which is a very nice studio room. The kids got the regular rooms, but we heard no significant complaints. One note to the upper-bunk sleepers - after a pub-crawl-night don't forget to turn off the ceiling fan before you go to bed!!! OUCH!!!

Breakfast is very good. We especially loved Renita's "local" versions, since our eating-out rule is "never order what you can get at home". One exception - the french toast is awsome, and certainly much better than anything at my home. My wife loved the coffee so much, that was the only souvenier she brought home (that's the only thing I don't drink, so you have to take her word for it).

For planning your activities each day, C & R are great for a no-stress way to do anything you want. I don't have any idea if the prices they got for us were the best available, but each experience they set up for us was first-rate. Each one (snorkeling, cave-tubing, zip-lining, sunset booze cruise, biking the north beaches, etc.) was escorted by fun, knowledgeable and professional guides who made the experiences the best ever for our whole group. Every recommendation for food and drink locations in San Pedro were excellent and reasonable. Who would have thought I would eat the best pizza in my life in Ambergris Caye?? When I ran out of cash (my fault, as usual), they were able to make a bank run for a refill and add it to the bill with no fuss. Just tell them what you want to do or what you need the day before, and everything will be arranged by the time you come in from dinner. They worked out several special requests for us with no problems that we were aware of.

This trip was so much like our "good ole' days" travels from years ago - relaxed, non-stop fun without a worry or care for five straight days. The only bad experience was having to leave. If they ever need a handy man and replacement cook, my wife and I would sign up in a heartbeat.

We will definately come back, and all our friends are already sick of hearing about how much fun we had without them.

Changes In Latitudes Bed and Breakfast

As a solo female traveler I decided to stay in a smaller B&B type facility opposed to a big resort. I couldn’t have made a better choice than to stay with Changes In Latitudes.
Things went smoothly from making the reservation, throughout the stay right through the speedy check out process.

The owners reside right onsite and were readily available any time I had a question.
They went the extra mile making me feel more like a family-friend than a guest.

A beautiful gourmet style breakfast with fresh local fruits, juice and coffee was available each morning.

The courtyard was quaint and nicely nestled upon the property consisting of beautiful plants and tropical flowers. Little twinkling lights aglow in the evening made it the perfect spot for continuing conversations with friends. While during the day hummingbirds and native wildlife could be seen and appreciated. It was a wide open space yet snug and secure complete with the white picket fence and security.

My room was modest but tastefully decorated with a tropical theme. There was plenty of shelves and space for hanging clothing. Fresh clean linens adorned the double bed along with an ample supply of pillows. The shower exceeded my expectations both in size and with great water pressure delivered through a multi- functional showerhead

I love staying at Changes in Latitudes. This was my 2nd stay at CIL, and I plan on having many more. Renita and Cindy took great care of everything I needed -- I was traveling alone, but I didn't feel alone because of their friendliness and hospitality. I made several new friends during my stay and thoroughly enjoyed being in their gorgeous courtyard to enjoy the beauty of Ambergris Caye. Perfect location: close to the beach for walks to the hot spots, and the pool is right next door at the yacht club.
