I stayed there for a conference.
This is a very big hotel, so the room standard varies as the rooms get renovated one by one.
My room was large (two queen size beds), the bedroom/salon much newer than the run-down bathroom and toilet.
The aircon worked and could bring the temperature down to 21 centigrade when kept on full blast on a warm day.
The rooms are all situated in different buildings.
The further you get away from the main building the better it gets.
If your room is not in the shade, i.e. facing south, you are in for a warm stay.
The large pool area is very popular. It is filled, and at times crowded by mostly French tourists and Moroccans, either expatriates or locals trying to pretend to be French or expatriates.
The small bistro by the main pool is OK for a lunch meal.
You can only buy water or soft drinks at the one bar or at one of the restaurants. Other than that, there is only room service.
There are no vending machines in the hotel, nor in the conference centre connected to the hotel!
Annoying, given that this country is warm to very hot most days of the summer period.
Americans can forget about ice machines.
The price for a litre water bottle is about 30 MAD, 4 to 5 times the street price. Nonetheless, those that can pay their room price can also afford this.
A 25 cl beer costs 40-50 MAD, which is too much (i.e. 10 GBP for a pint).
Whatever you read on these pages - the hotel staff does not interfere with your shopping bags and water you might have in them.
The man-headed staff at the reception is relative unhelpful and smiles are not seen. They are mostly busy with each other.
If you speak French or not is not important - if you are not French proper they will treat you accordingly.
However, they will assist you finding 'a good restaurant' recommending those on their personal kick-back list.
They will promptly bad-mouth any restaurant you ask about, which is not on that list.
It is a comical when arriving at your very special and genuine restaurant filled with conference delegates staying at the same hotel...
This hotel is in this respect no different from the service you get in the country as a whole, unless you deal with the owners of a business, who understands who pays her/his salary.
Then you can have excellent service.
The restaurants at the hotel - the 'Italian' is the best - are OK.
The Moroccan wine is drinkable and affordable, the French are too expensive. Food is OK and prices twice to thrice the street prices. Still, this is affordable. The option is to take a cab - can be very testing - to a cheaper but not much better place. Alcohol is normally only served at the large hotel restaurants.
There is an ATM in the lobby that works sporadically.
In general, beware of Muslim holidays, and there are many of those. The hotel ATM is closed on any such holiday and of course on their 'Sunday' which is Saturdays.
Beware. You should always carry cash. Credit card systems often 'do not work', in some cases that is actually true, for technical reasons and/or public holidays.
AMEX and DC tend to not to work at all, whatever stickers are posted and promises given.
