“Luxury Oasis in exiting city”

We found this location via TRIPADVISOR and all we can do is confirm the excellent rating. A beautiful location in the medina of Marrakech - when you arrive there at night as we did it's a bit thrilling to walk through the narrow alleys, but don't worry, it's safe! You knock at the big, wooden door and paradise opens up! A relaxed, stylish atmosphere, very peaceful and far away from the hustle and bustle of this exciting city. Especially the waterfall in the "patio" and all the roses wherever you look immediately calm you down. The rooms (9 in total) are all perfectly designed in a different style, so are the salons where you breakfast, tea or dinner. On top of the riad you find a spacious roof terrace with a good view over the roofs of Marrakech.

The service is excellent. Patron Jean Patrick - who was out this evening - just called when we have entered the door to make sure that we have arrived well. If you need help with regards to reaturants, shopping locations or train tickets - he will organize it for you with the help of his extremely friendly staff. Follow his advice and have dinner at the Al Fassia - excellent food and don't miss the Morrocan salad (kind of Italian antipasti with oriental influence).

If we go to Marrakech again, we will surely stay at this hip place!

Best regards from Hamburg, Germany!

I have just come back from spending a short week at Dar Silsila and found my stay there amazing. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely!!!!!

Jean-Patrick and his team make one feel really welcome and the service and attention to detail are excellent. The mint tea was lovely but my favourite part were the homemade biscuits - I'm having withdrawal symptons already!!!

I cannot rate this Riad highly enough and would without doubt recommend this as 'the place to stay' in Marrakech!!!

“Exceptional and very special place!”

Dar Silsila is a very special riad, located near the smart boutique shops off Rue Mouassine and close to the souks and main square, making it very accessible to get to most places on foot.

We stayed for 6 nights at the Riad and wished it had been longer as Jean Patrick and his staff made it an exceptional and memorable week. Jean Patrick's service was the best I have experienced from organising the airport transfers to booking our restaurants (and asking for the best tables) and spa session to honest advice on the places to visit and the best ways to get there. We were made to feel very at home at Dar Silsila to the extent that we grew very attached to it and did not want to leave!

The riad itself is a serene and relaxing oasis from the hubbub of the medina but it was Jean Patrick's beautiful furnishings and design with little wacky touches that I loved the most, particularly the African Suite!

Abdul was also fantastic! He greeted us when we first arrived with delicious mint tea and mouth-watering biscuits (which we had to have every day after that) and his friendly and professional service was greatly appreciated. The girls and the night porter were also lovely and always greeted us with big smiles and could not do enough for us!

Overall, it was an incredible stay, due to Jean Patrick and his staff for making our first time in Marrakech effortless and very special in every way, thank you! I look forward to returning to Dar Silsila many times over!

“Loved Dar Silsila”

Everything about Dar Silsila was perfect. The location was great - in the Medina but easy to find which is a huge plus. The hotel was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. The bedroom was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had the best plumbing in Morocco - a HUGE plus. The owner Jean-Patrick went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, gave us great advice and helped with any arrangements we needed to make. We did not have dinner there, although I heard that it was really good, but the breakfasts were some of the best we had. There is a lovely roof-top terrace where we had wine from the hotel's great Moroccan wine collection. I cannot recommend Dar Silsila enough and I would not consider another place to stay in Marrakech.

“An Oasis in the Middle of the Medina”

My husband and I (2 expats) along with my visiting gal pal traveled to Marrakech during the Bank Holiday from 20-25 March. I made direct arrangements with Jean-Patrick without any difficulty. Before we arrived, at his suggestion, he made arrangements for us to be met at the airport by private car (cost added on to your room bill so no fussing about with money at the end of the trip). In 15-20 minutes we were in the bustling town of Marrakesh. It was dark when we arrived in the town and we had no idea where we were. The driver quickly got our bags out and immediately hoofed it down the street, us quickly trotting behind as best we could, dragging what baggage he didn't take, and not having a clue where we were going plus having to dodge cars and scooters going which way. We then approached what we learned later a "gate" which then brought us down the "street" and to the first alley on the left where we would eventually wind our way to our riad. The three of us thought, "did Bing, Bob and Dorothy experience this on arrival?" The driver rang the bell (a very sweet bird whistle) and Jean-Patrick answered the door and warmly welcomed us to his riad. Our bags were discretely whisked off to our appointed rooms by a friendly staff person and we were asked to sit down in the atrium area for some mint tea and almond cookies (that I got hooked on immediately!). Jean-Patrick gave us a quick orientation to the city in case we wanted to go out that night (was he kidding?!!), but we elected to just have our dinner and relax. I had made arrangements beforehand for us to have dinner at the riad and we were so happy that we did. The food is excellent here and we ended up eating all meals here except for one (Dar Moha) which Jean-Patrick arranged for us. The rooms we had were spotless, very nicely appointed, comfortable beds, but the rest of the riad is what makes this place so special. After a day out in the noisy, chaotic din of the town, you reach the door and when the door is opened and you step in you are pleasantly surprised each time on how quiet and peaceful the place is - the sound of the water from the atrium fountain provides a tranquil setting while soft jazz plays in the background - totally charming and well done. Jean-Patrick is the consummate host who goes the extra mile when needed and is alway willing to give suggestions for day trips or restaurants. My husband had some problems with our bank in paying the bill (long story) and Jean-Patrick was very understanding and accommodating. Another example: I loved the blue breakfast dishes that I saw every morning so much that he offered to get them for me and gave me some bubblewrap to make it easier to get them home. We also had a problem with a driver that had been arranged prior to our arrival to take us on a day trip to the Atlas Mtns. Well, he showed up, obviously had been drinking, and immediately Jean-Patrick found another driver to take us on a memorable trip - the highlight of our trip to Marrakech. We absolutely would come back here again should we find ourselves in Marrakech again. This is the perfect place to stay, to relax, meet some nice people, enjoy the hardworking staff - they are so nice - and to meet one of the nicest hosts we have met in all our travels, and we have traveled all over the world. This place deserves to go back to the Number One spot!
