A splendid place to enjoy our 'big' birthday celebrations with unrivalled attention to detail. The fabulous decor inspired most of us to refurb our own homes!
The Hostess made our stay very personal from the delicious evening meal which included a specially made 'happy birthday' loaf to the detailed shopping guide and spa recommendation.
I would definitely recommend breakfast on the terrace - a great way to start the day.

I wanted to write a review because so often you read Trip Advisor and can end up more confused than ever before you book a trip because of how wide ranging reviews can be. However, the universal praise that Dar Charkia gets is completely spot on and deserved.

This was my third visit to Marrakech and the amazing service we received from Lisa and Michael and all their great staff made it such a cut above the other places we have stayed.

As it is has been said on here many times nothing was too much trouble, Lisa's recommendations for restaurants were great, and having them booked and transport sorted before we even arrived took any stress out of the evenings. The shopping recommendations were also great, and Lisa even took the time to take us round the souks for a few hours, our shopping haul was very impressive!!

The riad itself is beaufiful, I dont think you can beat eating a lovely breakfast in a tent on a roof top, chilling on the sun loungers, cooling off in the plunge pool or having a jug of pimms in one of the lovely break out areas.

All in all it was a truly amazing trip - i would recommend the riad to anyone as it is beautiful but it was the genuine and amazing level of service and friendliness of everyone that makes this a true cut above - you really feel welcomed into their home.

I am sure we'll be going back - everytime you go to morroco you find new places and have new experiences, and Dar Charkia will be the top of our list - it was just great.

As soon as we arrived at Dar Charkia we realised that we were about to have a most memorable experience. The riad itself is beautiful with incredible attention to detail. It was such a calming sanctuary in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. However this was not the best of Dar Charkia! The service from Lisa, Michael and the staff was out of this world. They could not do enough for us including a wonderful breakfast as soon as we arrived (even though we were not checking in for a few hours) and drinks late into the night. On our second night they cooked the most delicious meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The riad was decorated beautifully and we even had our own anniversary bread! I refuse to believe there is a better place to stay in Marrakech and would urge you to experience the hospitality and warmth of this spendid place.

Dar Charkia was recommended to us by another riad in Marrakech, and the experience certainly didn't disappoint. The hosts Lisa and Michael were lovely and were more than helpful with everything we wanted to know about. They put together a comprehensive souk shopping guide, and booked us into several lovely riads for dinner/hammam treatments. The best of these was by far Riad Privilege for dinner. Dar Charkia had a blissful courtyard with beautiful decor and authentic Morrocan touches, lovely little plunge pool and expansive roof terrace with sun beds and shower to cool off. Our room was spacious, comfortable and impeccably clean, with lovely products. And if that wasn't enough, the staff were very friendly and made you feel right at home.
What more could you ask for in a short break? We will definitely be returning and I will be recommending it to my friends.
