My husband and I stayed at GocheGanas for 4 nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but 4 nights was too long. Parts of the stay were good and parts were just okay. We especially enjoyed the game drives with very friendly and informed guides. We went on a number of nature walks and came upon a group of giraffes. Every single person at the retreat is very pleasant and they greet you with a smile. The restaurant was well managed and staff was sensitive to whether we wanted a quick dinner or a slower, relaxed one. They served a lot of wild game which we don't eat. We ordered fish one night and it was fishy tasting. The buffet dinners were pretty good but I wouldn't classify the food as spectacular. The spa was nice. I got a different treatment every day. All of the treatments were average, but the facial was excellent. I wouldn't suggest the reflexology (foot massage) because I've had good foot massages before and I don't think their therapists are adequately trained for that type of massage.
We did have a few problems. They advertised internet service in the rooms. We brought our laptop for just that reason. When we asked the front desk personnel, they said the internet hadn't been working for quite a while and they didn't know when it would be repaired. They didn't offer any apology or special service to compensate. We ended up driving 45 minutes into Windhoek to get service.
The beds are "king sized" but actually two twin beds pushed together which seems typical in Namibia. One of the beds had broken springs which caused you to roll off the bed if you came too close to it. We talked with the front desk and they said they would inform housekeeping. Nothing was done about it.
I don't think we will ever go back there again...once is enough. Actually, 2 nights would have been plenty!
