I booked and pre-paid my two-day reservation online from a third-party website. The hotel is not far from the Nanjing E. Rd MRT station. When I arrived there, the front desk staff consulted their paperwork and confirmed I was on their list. The women (I have only seen women at the front desk) were very organized and seemed to be prepared for my arrival. Most of them spoke English, which was good for me as I don't speak Chinese or Taiwanese. The elevator was on the small side, but the room was large enough for one person. I guess noodles are popular in Taiwan, so don't be surprised to see a hot water machine and a bowl of instant noodles in your room. The bathroom was clean, and the shower was large. It was strange to have the bathroom separated from the bedroom by a glass door...at least it was frosted! I was not impressed with the buffet breakfast, however they did serve cereal, bread, and fruit in addition to the Asian cuisine. The downstairs "eating area" was a bit dingy. I stayed there by myself (lone female), and never felt afraid or intimidated. There is a grocery store and a few 7-11s nearby. Maybe if I was rich would I look for something better. This hotel is not far from the train station, which will take you everywhere in Taipei. Lots of restaurants nearby. I could walk anywhere around the hotel to get something to eat. Beware of the scooters, though! They are everywhere and will run you over if you don't look both ways in this busy area of Taipei.
