“Fantastic value for money!”

This hotel is a gem...great, peaceful location off Sathorn, near Lumphini Park and 10 minutes walking distance from either Sala Deng or Chong Nonsi Skytrain stops (plus some Metro stops, but I didn't use Metro). It's suites, so for less than the price of the major hotels - we paid only $100/night! - you get a bedroom, living/dining room, kitchen with full appliances, and full bathroom. (Larger suites are available for families or longer stays.) Service is great, Internet is inexpensive, and there's a free gym and pool.

The restaurant is small and basic, so don't expect to eat meals here regularly - however you can easily go out and/or bring food in since there's a kitchen and dining area in your room.

There's a fantastic spa in the hotel...a wonderful 90-minute Thai massage was about $30.

I will definitely stay here again if back in Bangkok.

Bangkok is FULL of quality hotels and serviced appartments....this one is up there with the best.
Not 5 star but NOT five star prices either...a real good balance of location, quality and friendlyness.
i often visit Bangkok on business and this will become my prefered location for sure.
Give it a try...you can get better but not this well balanced.

“Just fabulous, my best hotel experience ever”

This hotel is just fabulous. Breakfast - unbelievable. Lobby - awesome. Services - awesome. Rooms - beautiful. You get a full kitchen and dining area and living room and bedroom, and at such a low rate compared to Bangkok hotels. I hoped people couldn't guess I wasn't a famous ambassador so they wouldn't kick me out for being just a tourist. It was an oasis of peace and comfort in Bangkok. Highly recommended.

“Great Service Apartment”

My family stayed at Somerset Park Suanplu for five days in Dec 2007. The service apartment is spacious, and the free internet access and well-equipped kitchen are two examples that kept everyone happy throughout the stay.

We have stayed in hotels in Bangkok that are near to the train stations but since there are four of us, we were fine with calling for cabs. In any case, the apartment provides free transportation to the nearest train station on hourly basis.

I will certainly recommend the apartment to small or large families.

Perhaps one dissatisation is the breakfast. The selection was poor by most standards. The "fruit juices" were syrup drinks and food selection rather paltry. Since we had five days of stay, it was a pain to eat there even from the second day onwards. Worse, for a two-room apartment that we booked, we were given 3 bf vouchers per day. We couldn't believe how inflexible the resaurant captain was in insisting that we cannot use our vouchers in advance and must pay for the "extra" person on the first day. My girls gladly took turns to skip bf from the next day on. My offer to skip bf was soundly rejected. Anyway, all of us skipped bf on the last day because we simply couldn't stomach the lousy bf. It's an irony that our experience could have been better if we were allowed to consume all our vouchers early, and I would have rated the apartment excellent as well.

Sorry to have written so much on the bf. Just want to manage people's expectation regards this, because the apartment indeed is a great place to stay. I would certainly stay there again, without bf in the package.

“high quality appartment overlooking embassies”

The hotel is in a relatively quiet area in the embassy area of town about a 15 minute walk from the night bazaar. Our 2 bedroom appartment exceeded expectations - pristine condition, well equipped kitchen, very spacious with great views over the Australian and German embassies. The hotel serves great breakfasts (wonderful cook who makes eggs any way you want) and has its own pool, gym and shop. The front desk are friendly and will help you get your trips sorted out. The hotel runs an hourly bus service to the rapid transit or will call a cab for you. A wonderful place to chill out after a trip or a day in the markets!
