All the reviews are right. I booked to stay here for a couple of nights in March 2008 after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and was very impressed. It is a very cool hotel. Everything is brand new. It is in an amazing location, right on the Skytrain, which is brilliant considering how bad the traffic is.
Everyone was very helpful. The rooms were really lovely - not standard hotel rooms but a modern, young design (think bare concrete style walls), which had clearly required a lot of thought. The pool is also great, though not massive.
We went to have a drink in the Banyan Tree and wouldn't have swapped for the world - it's in the middle of nowhere and really stuffy. I can't recommend Siam @ Siam enough. The only thing I would say is this: it might not appeal to those of an older generation. I am only 25 and would definitely stay here if I came back to Bangkok, but if you're 50+ and expecting a more conventional hotel experience then you might be disappointed!
Also, it only cost us about £67 a night - really unbelievable for the quality.
