“Simply the best in Chiang Mai”

It was not my first stay now in Chiang Mai and also not my first stay in Parami Guesthouse. But first time i was there in a hurry stay for only two Nights, when the guesthouse just was openend. And it was great too. But this time, i was at Parami for more than one week and what Roger and Aree are doing with Parami, is exactly that, why you travel to thailand again and again...
The Guesthouse is not in the Backpackers Area of Chiangmai but in the middle of the Center. The Atmosphere with the Garden and the Staff is excellent. And Roger and Aree are the best Guesthouse-Managers in whole Thailand and i was in this Country for the 6th time! They do everything for you to feel just great. And if you like to talk and drink some beer you can also become a member of the extented parami familie :-)
I will comeback for sure!
Thanx for those wonderful days and my greatest trek in my life with your travel agency.
Stephan

“Catered to ALL our needs -”

Parami Guesthouse

5 of 5 stars
Brossard, Canada
Oct 1, 2007

Roger and Aree of Parami guesthouse are two of the best, friendly and most trustworthy hosts we encountered during our stay in Thailand. We had an absolutely fabulous stay at their beautiful guesthouse, and felt right at home.
Upon arrival, our room was not available. but Roger invited us to sit down and relax with a drink while they prepared our room. He also catered to all our needs in booking a trekking trip in the mountains, all necessary passport photocopies, as well as taking care of our luggage while we were away. When we came back after 3 days, we had another great room waiting for us, and our luggage was waiting en suite.
The rooms at Parami are beautiful. After making our way through a main area with a golfish pond and stepping stones leading to the rooms, we walked outside, through the covered dining area and upstairs to a common area and the rooms. Everything is very open, letting the cool breeze flow through the halls and rooms. We ate breakfast several times at the guesthouse before beginning our day, and they make a mean bowl of muesli with milk and yogurt!
Roger and Aree are very knowledgeable on all things Chiang Mai, and were able to suggest several places to visit in the city, and some great restaurants. Roger also instructed us on how to make our way up to Doi Suthep.
I would recommend Parami guesthouse to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Although not in the Old City, it is only a footbridge crossing from the Warorot and flower markets, and a ten minute walk from the city walls. And for the price, it doesn't get much better.

“guesthouse with a local personal touch”

Parami Guesthouse

Sep 26, 2007

we didn't know much about chiangmai before we actually got there. choice of accomodation was then a game of luck. we didn't want to get accomodations in the city or near the bazaars, because those places were too "touristy". if you prefer a feel of the local lifestyle, and enjoy the slow and relaxed pace of life, this guest house will work just nicely for you. while the place is not exactly very near to the markets. tuk tuks are always available to bring you around. so that solves the problem. but nothing beats coming back to your room after a day full of activities and being greeted by roger and aree, and their beautiful little girl having dinner. the staff were very friendly and helpful, and we even hanged out at one of the best places in town for good music and drinks. i've travelled to other places and stayed at guesthouses. but i've never experienced such a personal touch before. the travel booking service was definitely a plus point because they were able to suggest activities that catered to our interests, and the company they work with was really one of the best in the business from what i noticed about other companies. i was so impressed by the company that did the rafting. their level of safety awareness was immaculate! only downside was that we were only given one key to the gates when there were 2 of us. so we either have to stick together all the time, or we have to wait for each other to get back. but of cuz this is just a minor thing because there is always a way to work around it. bedsheets and towels are available upon request, and they basically leave your room alone when you are out. so its up to u to keep your room clean. i felt that this gave an added sense of belonging to the place. roger also owns this spa right beside the lodge which is a great thing because after a day of walking, you would really want a proper rub down. kudos to roger, aree, kan, irene and Mr donut for making our stay so smooth and fun! we really got to experience some local life staying there!

“Cosy, quiet”

Parami Guesthouse

Singapore

Stayed at Parami mid-June for a few nights. Roger, family and staff were very friendly and helpful. For e.g. when we mentioned our concern about mosquitoes in the room, they offered to spray a round of insecticide while we were out and then left some mosquito coils burning just outside our door. We were given a 1litre bottle of water each day. Be sure to mention that you want your room tidied up or if you run out of toilet paper or something, it didn't appear to be done automatically at first. Once you do, Roger and staff will see to it. We were also helped along with bookings for tours and how to get around. The Sunday walking street recommendation was great! We took the aircon room which was a great help considering the heat and humidity of Chiangmai in June. Check out the breakfast options a few minutes' walk away: There's yummy beef noodles which come in healthy servings (both dry and soup), a stall selling a steamed rice-flour with minced meat treat that does really brisk business & another mixed noodle joint ran by a very friendly lady. There is also a cafe with some good tea/cakes/chocolate and restaurants along the river for dinner plans. Definitely recommended. M, Singapore

“all staffs are so helpful and friendly!”

Parami Guesthouse

Jun 26, 2007

I and my friend stayed in Parami for 3 nights and it was so good.
All staffs are always so helpful and room is clean and beautiful.
That area is quiet and peaceful to stay and there are many cool places for shopping and chilling out. Many galleries and bars, etc.
If I go to Chiangmai again, I'm willing to stay there again.
Specially recommand for a couple traveller and a family! ;-)
