“Best place in the world!”

Samui Sense Beach Resort

Went April 2007 with significant other, 21 years old!

If you're looking for an easy going, gorgeous resort this is the place for you. Lamai beach is a very nice quiet beach, but that never stopped us from having a good time.

There are random "bars" that come out of no where (like most places in Thailand) right on the beach so there's always somewhere to go, and so many resorts are side by side along the beach so there's always somewhere different to eat, and always affordable, I mean it is Thailand.

The resort itself is very small, but very nice. We were welcomed with such great service walking in and our bags were pealed off of us faster than we could get out of the van. We entered the reception and were instantly given cold towels and juice! They got all of our information and were told our room was ready. Our bags were taken (we tipped i think 200 baht) and the guy carried them up to the third floor upstairs in a very nice open clean building. We stayed in a small room, but it was gorgeous and comfortable with a/c (which is necessary when its so hot to take a break), king bed, plenty of storage for luggage and just all around pretty. The beach was down the way past the small pool (which we only went to at night and we didn't swim in it, the beach was far too nice) and past the villas (which looked really nice) down to the restaurant (totally open to the beach), which turned into an extention to the restaurant right on the beach, which was really good. The food at the restaurant is a little pricey so we usually walked down the beach or went to the road to find something a little cheaper, there are great little places down the road. We went to one beach restaurant which had fresh caught fish you could choose, that was great, the servers were really entertaining.

On the beach itself you could get a message for like 100baht (like $3.50) and they hurt you bad, but you feel wonderful after, I wanted to take them home with me. Careful for Mama on the beach, she made me feel bad so I got ripped off for a pedicure, but ripped off in thailand is still ridiculously cheap.

The resort is just very nice, there was nothing negative I can think of, unless you want more of a party, but then I would go to the neighbour island, Koh Phangan, it's much younger.

On a side note, I never once felt unsafe. I was out walking on my own a couple nights and it was just such a really great neighbourhood. There is internet nearby, laundry service across the road, and tons of shops with unique things that you don't find in Bangkok. There is a travel guy across the road to book everything for you, and the front desk will get you a shuttle to wherever you need to go! All in all great service, great accommodations, gorgeous beach, always clean, everyone was friendly, all around perfect vacation destination in my eyes.

We stayed here for 4 lovely nights. Cool drink and towel on arrival. Big king size bed. Nice bathroom. Air con. Fridge and free water daily. Bathrobes and slippers. Nice pool with shade and sun. Breakfast was included and really nice... they could however include some thai food but the fruit was delicious. Staff very friendly and happy to organise a taxi to the airport for an early morning flight. Set on the beach with bar and drinks available. Food at the restaurant was delicious - pad thai we ordered twice in 4 days! Would stay here again if I ever came back.

“Samui Sense is Perfect Paradise!”

Samui Sense Beach Resort

5 of 5 stars
Anchorage, Alaska

My wife and I stayed at Samui Sense for our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it! This was our first trip to Thailand and we did lots of research trying to find the perfect location/beach and hotel/resort. After looking online and talking to others who have stayed on the island, we settled on the Lamai Beach area, and the Samui Sense Beach Resort.

Nearly all of Samui's Eastern coastline is pretty heavily populated and congested, but that’s where the best beaches, shopping, and nightlife are. Lamai is "quieter" than Chaweng Beach just to the north. When we first arrived on the island and began the 30 min drive to Lamai, we thought "oh my, this is too busy and not the quiet vacation we were hoping for". Even the stretch of road that runs along “quiet” Lamai beach was jammed with stores, shops, vendors, restaurants etc.

But when we pulled into Samui Sense, all that changed. What a lovely tropical paradise set amongst chaos! I mean that in a very good way. As soon as you step onto the Samui Sense Resort grounds, it’s like you are thousands of miles away from all that chaos. The lush grounds and the *perfect* setting on the beach was amazing. The service was terrific and contrary to some other reviews I read, the food at the beachside restaurant was fantastic (maybe they changed chefs).

We stayed in a Thai Villa room, our own private bungalow. If you want privacy (wink wink), stay in one of these. We looked at the other rooms and all options are very nice depending on the price you want to pay. Samui Sense can book many island tours and adventures right at the front desk and also rent you a car or motorbike to get out and see the rest of the island, which I highly recommend. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.

During the day they set out comfy padded lounge chairs on the sand and offer beachside bar service, breakfast, lunch or dinner on the full restaurant menu. Relaxing beach music is played, and at night they set up a romantic and elaborate dinner right on the beach... four star service with your toes in the sand, awesome! Overall the atmosphere was absolute Zen. We like to explore new places every time we travel, so Samui Sense really makes that hard, because we want to go back!

Go here... don’t take the kids (you could, we have four between us, but why!) ...leave all your stresses behind and just relax in the heaven that is Samui Sense. My wife and I felt it was our second honeymoon. I posted some pictures (the G rated ones that is!).

“well worth staying here”

Samui Sense Beach Resort

When we booked this place on the web it looked fab, but your never sure till you get there. The Samui sense was better than we ever inmagined! They give you cold towels and a glass of orange juice when you arrive then they whisk your bags off to your room.
The rooms and suites are set in beautiful gardens and very private. Our room was spotless and had great aircon! Huge tv, mini bar, bath robes, slippers, money safe, balcony and every thing else you need.
The restraunt's food is gorgeous and the staff are so friendly, you can sit inside or out on the beach.
Overall i would reccomend anyone going to samui to stay here, we loved every min of it and its great value.Itsby far one of the nicer places in the lamai area.

“A Great Find”

Samui Sense Beach Resort

We just spent ten days at the hotel in a newly renovated Junior Suite. All aspects of the hotel were excellent, including (suprisingly) their restaurant. Our experiences have been to avoid the hotel's restaurant, except for breakfast. Even if you don't stay here, try their seafood dinner for two (1,900 baht), but only if you are three people. After the squid, prawns, lobster, and mussels, we couldn't eat the sea bass.

For the price, the hotel is highly recommended.
